I have a 2016 GMC Canyon 2WD extended cab, long box. I put Toyo Open Country H/T II 235/65R18XL on the front and Toyo Open Country A/T III LT285/65R18 on the back. I run this "farm truck" tire setup all year in Alberta, Canada. I had the same setup on my previous truck (2002 Sonoma) but obviously in a smaller size. I do get some wheelspin but I look at the snowy road and try to find traction on the "rough" snow at the edge of the road. I drive on paved city streets and occasional gravel and dirt roads. I preferred the look of the jagged center treadblock of the A/T II tires but the A/T III tires work great and I really like them.

I ran the Pirelli Scorpion AT’s for a while on my Ranger. A pleasant ride , but a very disappointing tyre off road . I blew out the side wall on two tyres in an afternoon . I had driven that track before a was running the same pressure l usually run. IMHO they are too soft for serious off roading. As soon as l could l replaced them with BFG KO2 AT , and have been very happy with that decision.

Thanks for getting back to me . I had a look at my Pirelli and l couldn’t identify if they are LT or P . That ident is usually before the size . Either way it’s academic as l will stick with my BFG’s. To be honest once bitten , twice shy re Pirelli tyres . l enjoy the reviews, keep up the good work . Thank you

I had a set of AT2s 215/65R17 on Nissan X-Trail and they were the best tyres I have ever owned. Mostly on rough sealed roads and gravel but not offroad. I particularly liked the sharp steering response, almost twitchy which I enjoyed; it made driving the X-Trail actually fun when it is normally quite a dull car. I replaced those with BFG KO2s which are noisy understeer and lack any sort of road confidence so those probably slowed me down 20% - 30%. I would have got more AT2s but they were unobtanium during the pandemic insanity. The AT3 were also unobtaininum as were Falken AT3W. Next time, hopefully, I will be able to get Toyos again.

I’m loving my set of Toyo AT2’s. I’m a firm believer that most tire problems start by choosing large and wide tires. I’ve never had problems with skinny tires. Less rolling resistance, better braking, better mpg, more traction unless you want to float… My set of AT2’s are 245/70/r17 on a Toyota Hilux that came stock with 265/65/r17. I prefer tractor like “pizza cutter” wheels (I’m a farmer).

I never had the k02. I had two sets of the BFG All terrain before it and liked those for highway,rain and snow. Worked fine also in light mud. I had general grabbers last time and wasn't impressed. I'll be looking at the BFG k03 and can't wait to see how they do in snow. Good information. 👍 Can't wait to see more testing. Watched this channel in the past for tire reviews but haven't seen this channel in awhile.

BFG have dropped the ball for a while now. The KO2 made in Thailand was dangerous on wet tarmac and wore out well before previous models in the range. Some at around 30 odd thousand kms. This has been reported by many owners over the last few years. And let’s not mention the ridiculous prices. In excess of $400.00 plus per tyre manufactured in Thailand !!!!! Let’s hope this KO3 is a HUGE improvement on the previous model supplied to Australia.

What's the best tires in mud. I love mud tires but they only last 25k at best. Could it be these Ko3s or the new RT wranglers which are suppose to be between ATs and mud tires
@TyreReviewVideos
@TyreReviewVideos 26 күн бұрын
Hi Paul, my suggestion would be make sure you rotate Mud Tyres every 5 to 10K this will help with wear and noise. The Term RT is the crossover style pattern from most manufactures.
@paulfisher5902
@paulfisher5902 24 күн бұрын
You didn't really answer my question. I actually rotate my mud tires every 2500 miles. They still don't last long that's why I asked if the ko3s or a wrangler RT could be almost as good in mud.
