I've had the Falken FK510 in 265/35/R18 on a FL5 Type R Fitted in March 2024 now in October 2024 and it's down to 4mm depth, I admit I am an aggressive driver at times and can confirm it's better then the Michelin PS4S in outright grip in both wet and dry. With the Michelin PS4S before I would spin in 1st , 2nd and sometimes 3rd (315hp at the fronts will do that , LSD be damned) With the Falken FK510 i only spin in first if I give it a little too much and even then not for long it just bites and goes , complete confidence in the wet/dry. I managed to get them for $210 a corner vs the $500-550 most tyre retailers want for the PS4S in identical size. I am eyeing these FK520L and hope they will be better , because the only issues with the FK510 that I can attest to is the tyre is very comfort oriented and the handling isn't as sharp ...steering during a slalom at speed is slightly delayed but the grip is definitely always there. From everything I have read so far and what I've seen in this video , the weight of the tyre is shaved a little to reduce rolling resistance and unsprung mass and due to the widening of the tread grooves and then stiffening the shoulder blocks it might actually be a recipe for success but only time will tell. But for me Falken will always be a brand I've tried can confirm they are trustworthy to use on an expensive car whose owner is a bit of a lead foot. All without breaking the bank , will definitely keep the FK520L on my radar.

What's the difference between the FK520 and FK520L?
