I see this is a year old yet very informative. I recently made a couple of purchases that came with 2 DCB1104 chargers. They're 4 amp and also have 2 stage charging. So basically like the black 6 amp you've shown but only 4 amp. I was wondering your opinion on them.
@SomeGuysGarage
@SomeGuysGarage 16 сағат бұрын
The DCB1104 is the replacement for the DCB115....both 4 amp chargers but the 1104 has the newer 2 stage logic which should extend the life of the batteries slightly. I have a couple of the 1104's now and they would be my recommendation over the 115 today.

DeWalt doesn’t publicly disclose a detailed, universal breakdown of their model numbering system, but here’s how model numbers like DWHTTR510 can be interpreted: 1. DW: A standard prefix for DeWalt products. 2. HT: Indicates the product category or type of tool. In this case, “HT” refers to a hand tool. 3. TR: Signifies a sub-category or specific feature set. Here, “TR” likely stands for a tacker or stapler. 4. 510: Represents the specific model within the sub-category. For DeWalt cordless tools, model numbers typically look something like DCN681B: 1. DC: Stands for DeWalt Cordless. 2. N: Indicates the product category or type of tool (e.g., nailer). 3. (No sub-category in this case.) 4. 681: The specific model within the category. 5. B: Indicates the tool is sold as a bare tool (no batteries or charger included).

I do live in Canada too. It’s the worst country so far for vehicles, machinery, any metal equipment which are subjected to its weather. To the point that even inside your house, like door laches tools in bags, etc… they go rusty if you don’t treat them. I learned hard lesson by neglecting my vehicle and not rustproofing it, after some years, the jack points side of frame literally fell off like a sand. It was a big mess and finally the vehicle made its way to junk yard. It’s a big investment in a long run if you take care of your vehicle by rustproofing every year. It’s just a price of couple pack of beers anyways. You doing a great job here. Whether the vehicle is new or old, it needs to be protected from this awful humid/ street salt and it’s elements . I recommend to anyone reading this Not To Neglect you car like i did.

You miss the main point of these pliers. They are engineered so that the more torque you apply the tighter the jaws grip the nut/bolt. You could literally apply torque only on one handle with these, ie no need to rely on hand squeeze to grip the nut. Designed in such a way means they are torque directional and to be used properly should be be turned over when going from loosening to tightening and vice versa to take advantage of the auto grip tightening feature. I have a full set of these and they are fantastic and full value because there is no other pliers that has the fastener grip increase with torque feature which is more than just an increased confidence feel. With most pliers when approaching the slipping stripping point the jaws are under pressure to expand which exerts force to open the handles. This is force your squeeze must counter. This nuisance, which can be problematic in tight spaces, is erased with this design. It's really a brilliant bit of kit.
@SomeGuysGarage
@SomeGuysGarage 8 күн бұрын
Yup, I've learned even more about these since then...though there is a "squeeze" factor involved too. If you check out my latest video comparing them to cobras/raptors/alligators you'll see I touch on the torque when pushing thing.

@emmettturner9452
@emmettturner9452 8 күн бұрын
They should make a workbench glue gun that sits on a powered base which maintains a temp just at the melting point and is only cordless when you pull it off the base to use. Removing from the base should automatically boost the temp. Heck, a super capacitor can help with the sudden boost and from there it could get away with a single tabless 21700 cell built-in. Return it to the base between uses and it should always be ready during a project. Like a good soldering iron you’d want it to have a timer for standby/sleep and power off with a button to wake it up if you haven’t been actively using it. If they made one like this I would definitely have it on my bench but I might as well use corded otherwise.

Rim joist area is 1" ish of spray foam for sealing and then R22 roxul in front. Ceiling has 3.5" safe n' sound filling it in. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation!! I have two questions, 1- Did you leave any air gab behind the Roxul Insulation or it is butted right against the XPS pink foam boards? 2- Did you add any vertical or horizontal fire blocking before the Roxul insulation on the walls?
@SomeGuysGarage
@SomeGuysGarage 18 күн бұрын
Yes, there's a small air gap between the roxul and XPS...this was mostly due to framing requirements, the foundation walls aren't perfectly straight, so I had to set the wall off a bit (at most an inch) to allow the framed wall to be straight. I did not push the roxul therefore tight to the foam board. No, I didn't add any fire blocking. These walls are not structural (the foundation walls carry all the load) and don't go between floors, they are just there for insulation and drywall purposes.

For personal hygiene "deskside" bag: xylitol candy or gum. It needs to be full xylitol. Pop one in our mouth after drinking soda or red bull or any of that sweet but corrosive stuff. It neutralizes pH and also kills certain types of mouth bacteria.... We all know that it is very easy to skip brushing, there sometimes is not enough time and our diet in those days is horrendous: lots of sugar and acidic drinks. Xylitol helps, it is not a replacement for brushing but it removes the conditions that spawn lots of bad bacteria and also the loss of enamel.... Don't get the kind that is strong in peppermint or menthol, the more pure the better and only mildly flavored. It is not suppose to be replacement for candy, and you do NOT want to eat a handful of them in one go, they are laxative in larger amounts... not a problem in regular use, like once an hour. Best effect after drinking something, pop it in the mouth and then don't drink and eat in 15 minutes to really let it do its thing. The only candy that dentists recommend here and it is not at all bad, it is very sweet, almost too sweet but it brings a lot of saliva in, and has a cooling effect like eukalyptus or menthol. Dry mouth at least for me tends to be a problem at job, the halls are very dry to begin with, and adrenaline dries mouth even more. Gum is more effective than candy as you have to chew on it for longer but disposing the gum can be a hassle..

You don't need the Leatherman. The only function it bring is the pliers. And.. in that case actual pliers are actually much better. I've stopped carrying a multitool, i just have Victorinox for quick access to blade and small scissor in the pocket, and i have regular pliers in the toolbag. I've found out that when you really need pliers, it is then a problem that makes you walk all the way to your gear and get pliers instead of carrying them all the time. They are "everyone, take two minutes" problem at least. Less weight to carry around is always good. You have i think all the functions apart pliers as "real" tools... Leatherman is when you can really carry just one tool but none of the functions it provides are better than the real thing.. Curved pliers do pretty much all things that a straight one does, but the opposite is not true.
