What if we had another human faction besides the RDA…like a coalition of nation that are in desperation and rage to takeover Pandora for the minerals.

SWT thinks the Death Star is a giant computer? You make a lot of good points on the anti-woke warriors failings while trying to grift their audience. But I also disagree on some points, for instance number 14, on the portrail of the Jedi Order. Yes, you can't fault the show for showing individual Jedis making mistakes or acting rashly or wrong. But the context of the show is that the Jedi Order systematically acts in a way that would be deemed as bad: They play politics, rationalize deception towards the Republic in order to protect their standing, or even deception within the order to protect themselves or their reputation. THAT is what George Lucas (or anyone familiar with fantastical concepts of Good vs. Evil) would call Bad. Star Wars is ultimately a fairytale, and the moral of the story is about being good versus being evil. The show tries to frame what is going on as if these actions taken by either Jedi or Sith are really blurred or morally grey. That is (as someone else pointed out in another video) fine for a show like Game of Thrones, or present day politics in the real world. But not in a world where Good and Evil are very clearly present and tangible choises characters have to make or suffer the consequenses. This diminishes the world building. I don't blame The Acolyte specifically for doing this though. The concept of blurred lines has been introduced long before in fan fiction about "Grey Jedi" and such and The Clone Wars by Dave Filoni. So I blame Dave for bringing in into the franchise.

Thank you for this video! Personally, I loved the show, it's characters, and ESPECIALLY its choreography. That isn't to say I have no criticisms though; for example, I wish the episodes were longer to fix the pacing issues and perhaps give us more time to delve into character's motivations. Some of the character's decisions were dumb, but they each fit into their circumstances one could understand. Now whether you enjoyed the show or not, that's up to you, but many of the fan's treatment of those who worked on The Acolyte is just atrocious (actors, writers, etc.). There is a way to criticize and push for improvement without being an utterly terrible person who wishes for the worst : /

Similar to the fact that the clones went crazy in a new hope, however in the clone wars they were following order 66 through a chip in there head. Or the fact later that they were completely replaced by humans and retired quietly and ended up pan handling on the street.

Do you plan on going back to the MCU and making chronological timelines for it? You were one of the best at making those. Especially now that the MCU has grown so much with all new universes its pulled in I feel like now would be prime time to step back in the game.

1. It takes many months of work to complete a timeline of this scale. 2. It’s best to attach it to a big film for algorithm purposes.

The idea of taking "The Sith have been extinct for a millennium" at face value when it's proven wrong BEFORE IT'S EVER SPOKEN is the thing about the internet rage that's pissed me off the most. It requires no media literacy whatsoever, it merely requires paying attention to the hour and twenty five minutes before that line is spoken.

normal people: osha sees fire, fire gives flashbacks of a forest fire, the next scene is a youngling talking about fire fire must be a motif for the darkside and its influence culture war conspiracy theorist: osha sees fire, fire is in space, fire in space is unrealistic the writers/directors must be inexperienced to not know that you cant have fire in space despite the 4 decades of movies/shows of fire being in space fire cant possibly serve any symbolic or stylistic purpose also ofc starwars must be a sci fi because its set in space and sci fis must all be hyper realistic

Star Wars is best described as Science Fantasy: there's a good margin for "rule of cool" baked in, but it's also got to have room for the mysticism of the force.

Like I said in point 19: “Instead of watching a new canon entry in a franchise they enjoy and approaching it with the mindset of “how is this going to add to what came before,” they’ve got their guards up and are instead only thinking “how is this subtracting from what I love?”

I almost did not watched this vídeo because of nerdrotic face on the thumb, even knowing this is a critique on those SW “deep thinkers” Yes, the acolyte did not break any canon! However, the bad writing, horible edditing with episodes ending like someone pushed a pause button, bad acting, realy bummed me out… the acolyte had a huge potential. But YT got flooded with toxic revews and all of them talking about lore breaking, and conspiracy theories… Thank you for releasing this video after some time because now maybe some people got their emotions controled and maybe listen to you.

I appreciate the fact that, even though you had problems with The Acolyte (which is completely fine and valid as nothing is free of criticism), you still took the time to explain why the show doesn’t break canon and that some people are watching it not off the basis of what the show is adding to the lore, but what in their eyes, is taking away from it. I’m not saying that Disney’s Star Wars projects shouldn’t be criticized. They absolutely should. Criticism is necessary for stories to improve and have better writing and development. But, there’s a difference between creative criticism and hating on something simply because you hate the company that owns the thing you love. I feel like the people who are the most vocal about hating any Disney-released Star Wars project are those who are still mad that Legends is no longer considered canon to the franchise. And that anything that contradicts what was established in Legends is Disney disrespecting prior material or “shitting on George’s work”. Which is ironic considering that even George himself contradicted Legends with The Clone Wars. The fact is: Disney and Lucasfilm are not required to adapt anything from Legends to an exact letter. They are well within their rights to adapt whatever they want from Legends, bring it into Canon, and ignore what they don’t want to use. Similar to how Marvel Studios uses the comics to make the MCU films and shows. If we’re gonna criticize Star Wars, it’s gonna be because of writing, directing, or cinematography. Not because of “lesbian space witches” or “Disney hates white men” (which they don’t). There’s no agenda being pushed, Disney isn’t invalidating George’s work, and their shows are Not. Breaking. Canon! 👏🏽 Anyways, thank you for making this video. This was really helpful and needed to break those “broken canon” arguments.

Excellent comment. Very thoughtful and honest. Thank you! I agree, Lucasfilm shouldn’t have to adapt prior stories exactly like people saw them playing out in their heads to still make good content. And nothing is free from criticism!
