A great job as always, and extra praise for translating the Latin to help you place this. The special was fun, and my favorite part was when Jack (Gael García Bernal) got HAIRY...normally, the werewolf transformation is a special effect showcase, but by just having Elsa (Laura Donelly) reacting in terror to the animate silhoutte it became an acting showcase that didn't take you out of the story and was a great start to the climax. I tell you, sometimes I think the Disney timeline is not about making sense of the timeline, but placing the shows and movies where Kevin Feige wants them after the fact, regardless of when they actually take place in their own narrative. You do realize that makes you Kevin Feige's archnemesis, right?

Ngl when I watched this I thought it was like late 1800s - early 1900s cause they did such a great job of it feeling old! I didn't even consider that it could be taking place in modern times, but then during your video I noticed the ceramic coffee cup he's holding and I was like "Oh yeah". Great Video! 🎉 Just wanted to say, for She-hulk I beleive it takes place from Apr-Jun 2025, because of a few things: 1. Rogers the Musical billboard 2. semi-warm weather 3. Mallory mentioning her Anniversary coming up in October 4. Some phase of the Moon stuff 5. Wong mentioning the memory wipe spell 6. Wong’s outfit 7. Bruce being healed 8. Do you remember in what episode the Rogers the Musical billboard appeared in She-Hulk? Right now I think I'm leaning towards a July/August 2024 date, but that might push it forward for me. Wong's mention of the memory spell doesn't seem to indicate anything though since we know from No Way Home that he knew about the spell prior to No Way Home, and in She-Hulk he claims that he has cast the spell but he didn't in No Way Home. In other words, that reference is only a reference to No Way Home for the audience, not for the characters in-universe. Wong thinking the Book of Vishanti can still be used against his enemies implies to me that She-Hulk may take place before Multiverse of Madness.

I Absolutely really loved the Werewolf By Night Special with a Comicbook Accurate Version of Man-Thing one of my many favorite characters in the Marvel Universe the first time i saw Man-Thing was in is first live-action movie of Man-Thing from 2005 i have been a fan of this character ever since.

I think this is a perfectly acceptable placement for the special. However, until we get further information, in my head-canon this is taking place on December 30, 2014. The fact that the opening references the original 6 Avengers but not any of the new Avengers that joined the team in Age of Ultron or later makes me think that this could very easily take place at some point between The Avengers and Age of Ultron, 2012-2015. Furthermore, if Agents of SHIELD (at least Season 1) remains canon, then we know that Man-Thing was at one time captured by SHIELD and held in the Fridge, but at some point he was no longer held there, and information about him being held in the Fridge was released to the public in the Winter Soldier leak. Jack says that he has rescued Ted multiple times, which could mean he is responsible for Ted's escape from the Fridge, and the SHIELD leak would have allowed the Bloodstones to learn about Ted, track him down, and capture him. So that narrows the window down to somewhere between 2014 and 2015. Given the full moon dates, that would place Ulysses's death on December 6 and his "funeral" on December 30. And if Jack and Elsa were both snapped, that would mean only about 6 years have passed for them between the events of WBN and the present day, meaning the actors wouldn't have to be aged up or anything the next time they appear. Of course I'm happy to relocate the special's placement on my timeline once we get more evidence as to the year, but having it be even more accurate to the picture of the Avengers at the beginning of the special and lining up with the previous references we've had to Man-Thing in the MCU makes this spot more appealing to me presently.

Another great video that was far from ordin-"hairy". Nice work as always but one small point, you mention the oldest date in the mausoleum is 1968, but there is a grave for Beverly that is in 1986 at the 25:18 mark of the special. Small detail, so really just an FYI. As for the timing, I do tend to think it is October 31, 2025. The reason being that it is way to coincidental that a full moon is on November 5, 2025 and that five days before that is Halloween. There is nothing to specifically indicate how long Ulysses Bloodstone has been dead, other than it was the last full moon of the previous year. His rate of decay is hard to determine and of course it is possible to keep a corpse looking relatively good for several months with the right effort to preserve it, so it could have been 11 months or so since his death. The poof of dust coming out of the coffin when the wind up device is placed in it indicates it's been awhile since it was used. It could even be that he is an animatronic similar to Tales from the Crypt. But either way, I do think a 10/31/25 date is just too perfect for Marvel to have passed it up. Anyway, great video. That said, the text dating it is too big an indicator to ignore, and the cadaver was too fresh to have been more than a handful of months after it was bled. Dust comes from dead skin, so that too fits the decay pattern. I see no issues with using the onscreen methods to date it.

While perhaps not an ethical thing to do, I suspect the Bloodstone family isn't into corpse ethics. Why do you feel the corpse has to be less than a handful of months old?

I've personally placed WBN on Halloween 2025. There's a full moon on November 5th, five days before is October 31st and Giacchino stated in an interview with TheWrap that Jack's makeup is for Día de Muertos, which is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, with certain localities celebrating it on Oct 31st. Ulysses' death can also be a shaky translation,, and may mean he died on the last full moon within the year/of his life (Oct 7th). He also could've died on December 15, 2024 (or October 7) and to coordinate the hunt 10 ½ months can work.

And there’s no mistranslating “ultima plenilunio anni.” Also? There’s no chance Elsa would have waited that long to reclaim what was in her mind rightfully hers.

I’m Brazilian, so portuguese is my first language (a language derivative from latin, which makes both languages very similar), and the use of the word "última" can mean both "last" or "latest". "ultima plenilunio anni" in portuguese would be "ultima lua cheia do ano", which can mean both "the last full moon of the year" or "the latest full moon of the year".

This hunter group has a traditional "ceremonial hunt" every year, as confirmed by one of the hunters saying its his 30th one. Ulysses Bloodstone's final message to the hunters about this hunt to determine who would be the next leader means that Ulysses wishes for his funeral to be taken place on the next ceremonial hunt after his death. Verussa clearly respects those wishes, based off how seriously shes taking this, and wouldn't choose to have this happen at a seemingly random date in late December, thus its very safe to assume this takes place on October 31st 2025, 5 days prior to the full moon on November 5th 2025. This makes sense as generally in media with a similar premise of monster hunters, celebrations/ceremonies take place on or near Halloween every year, and this must be the case for this too. This would make Ulysses Bloodstone's death December 15th 2024 as well.

There’s no indication in the context of the film that the “ceremonial hunt” is a yearly observance. “Knowing his spirit would not be with us tonight, to state his wishes for the ceremonial hunt, he orchestrated his presence in other ways.” So the “ceremonial” aspect here would be his funeral. The other hunters clearly don’t know each other, which is why they introduce themselves. Jovan claims that “Next year’s my 30th season,” and not that this is his 30th ceremonial hunt. The “next year’s” clearly on his mind, which tracks with this being an end of the year funeral. Wong's mention of the memory spell doesn't really tell us anything in regards to placement because 1) we're told in No Way Home that Wong already knows about the memory spell before Strange casts it, and 2) Wong says he's not going to cast a spell to erase everyone's memories, "Not again", which implies that he has cast it before... but he didn't cast the spell in No Way Home, so whatever casting of the spell he's referring to, it probably isn't No Way Home's casting. Couple that with the fact that Wong believes that Jen is suggesting using the Book of Vishanti against Donny Blaze, then that implies that Multiverse of Madness (which technically takes place before No Way Home's final non-post-credit scene) hasn't happened yet. Unless Strange didn't tell Wong about the Book of Vishanti being destroyed, the book wasn't completely destroyed, or Wong decided to use a turn of phrase that he should have known Jen wouldn't have understood. So I think your July/August/September 2024 placement still totally works (and it's more or less where I have it as well currently).

I like the idea that this is nearly the Hunter's Moon. In 2012 that was October 24. One week before Halloween. This being a Halloween special, it works better that way for me. With only the OG six Avengers being shown I like the idea of placing it before AoU and after the first Avengers movie. I'm willing to change it if need be, but I like this placement better. It wouldn't even effect age issues (even moreso will not if all Elsa, Jack and Ted were blipped). But I think these characters might be done and were just introducing the monster concept (the Bloodstone might not be done though). The first time I've disagreed with Geekritique. Sorry.

Having seen a werewolf (at least it looks like one) in Moon knight, knowing what you said in this video and not having a precise placement date for this special, is it possible in your opinion that the events take place at the end of December 2023? I checked the moon phases on the internet and the last full moon of 2023 occurred on December 27th; that would link the special on December 22nd. Thanks Andrea. So no matter the year, it would always be after the last full moon of the year, and 5 days before the first full moon of the next, according to what’s said in the special. That could work though. I have no problem with that. I think the monster you saw in Moon Knight was an Egyptian Jackal, which is kind of in the same vein as a werewolf.

I think I'd rather go with a little earlier. I started with wanting to keep it in October, being a Halloween special, and so looked forward to 2024 and 2025 moon phases in October and November. Turns out November 2025's full moon is on November 5. Subtract 5 days from that and you end up on October 31 2025.

I have placed it after Loki/before WandaVision. It fits style and flow. She-Hulk between Love and Thunder and Falcon and Winter Soldier. Endgame Loki Werewolf by Night WandaVision Venom Legend of the Ten Rings Eternals Moon Knight Love and Thunder She-Hulk Falcon and Winter Soldier Far From Home Let There be Carnage No Way Home Morbius Hawkeye Guardians Holiday Special (assumed) Ms Marvel Deadpool In the Multiverse of Madness Deadpool 2 Wakanda Forever. The Deadpools are placed "so far". I base on chronology, but feel story flow is ultimately more important. I.e. Wong's call back to memory erase can as easily be foreboding. He is against the idea at the start of MoM. After he would be dead against. Not jokingly saying, not again. So I think it works better that way anyway. Loki end with horror style music. The time keepers are different. Werewolf has time keepers doing a different job. The black and white theme obviously lends to WandaVision. Like 616 is clourizing other realities as they converge. The end scene of WandaVision mentions more going on and it's in space. Venom starts with a spaceship crashing back to earth with new characters on board. Venom ends with Asian American shop keeper, Ten Rings gives history to their people. Ten Rings ends with magic rings being older than anything else and sending a signal. Eternals is about advanced tech older than civilization, some in ring form, and a signal calling a celestial. End introduces Black Knight in England. Moon Knight starts with a confused man in England.(why no mention of celestial in the ocean e.t.c.) Introduces God's. Obvious link to Love and Thunder. Pre Infinity war connection between Hulk and Thor leads us back to Hulk. She-Hulk that deals with legality before we go to Falcon dealing with international laws, while taking over a mantle. And so Spider-Man who is also dealing with becoming the new Iron-Man. And so on.

Hey! I actually have a question regarding one of the earliest timeline placements. Why did you decide to put the One-Shot for Agent Carter after the show? It states right at the beginning "1 year after the events of the movie" right..? So wouldn’t that definitively put it prior to season 2 and very close to season 1, though the story definitely has me consider it even prior to season1.. thoughts?

@@Geekritique yeah unfortunately her being recruited off to Shield at the end of the One-Shot seems to mess with the continuity of the timeline a bit... One theory I‘ve come up with is that maybe during the intial process of creating Shield the Break-In into Stark‘s vault happened, setting-off the events of S1 + S2, Carter returns to the SSR for now & the creaton of Shield is delayed until after the events of the show? This is the most reasonable explanation I can come up with, but haven’t seen every piece of MCU content out there just yet so idk if it interferes with what we know about Shield

I'm hoping that this is NOT a One-off that we thought when we first heard of it. Marie and I loved it...but felt that it was TOO short. It left us wanting more, which is a "good" disappointment to have. The military gear that the guards were wearing DID seem too modern for the 40s and 70s feel of this Monster Universe film. Also, the way the people (most of them) seemed at least twentyth century or more. We loved Elsa, play by Laura Donnelly in this role, she was wonderful. We've been following her career. Also, Jack Russell (not a dog), but Gael Garcia Bernal's titular character of the Werewolf by Night feature...who's HAIRY appearance in the film was thrilling, but also terrifying (in a Universal way...if you get our drift). We are loving the Latin X that is going on in the Marvel and Star Wars universes. Such a treasure trove of great actors that we have been recently introduced to). Glad to see it. Thank you, again

Im starting to worry that the more the MCU moves on, the more they will follow the incorrect Disney+ timeline and your timeline will be retconned and ignored. It makes me kind of sad, because I kind of like that a lot of Phase 4 takes place on 2024.

I don't know how else to say this, but Marvel does not control D+. The D+ timeline is wrong because they aren't Marvel. They are guessing or basing things on questions they've asked Marvel which quite possibly is outdated information depending on when they received said information.
