Actually there were an attempt to simplify the Thai pronunciation. It got backlash and deemed as babaric. Why get rid of all High class complications. Well even as a Thais myself, we still suffer from the language test lol

the bride price thing, some cultures from where im from still practice a tradition where family of the groom has to give very big and valuable gifts to the family of the bride. close enough to what you decribed.

Thai is not that hard actually. I think why we failed Thai it’s not about the normal grammar but its because Thai literature. A lot of hard words that we don’t use it anymore in real life.

Erm... Here, I am also a thai dude who is also the top of the class at thai language subject. So let me explain🎉 WARNING:Nerd contents 1) Thai language contains: 44 letters with 21 sounds of them due to repetition as you said, 21 vowels with 32 sounds cause they can change their form. And 4 tone markers with 5 tones cause the extra tone is when you don't put any marker on so they keep their original tone making it 5 in total, with the flat tone, down tone, falling tone, up tone and rising tonebut it will get more complicated later 2) As I said, we've got 44 letters which we divided them into three groups; high, mid and low. Which are moderate, easy and hard in order - high letters, contains the letters those have rising tone as their original tone (no marker) which means they can't make flat tone and up tone(Explaining this in low letters topic). And they also have tones that are linked to the markers(Explaning in low also lol) - mid letters, the easiest of them all. The heaven of thai elementary students😂. These letters have flat tone as their original tone which makes them the only group being able to create all the 5 tones which are all linked to their markers. -low letters, hardest of them all. We split them into 2 mini-groups; first, the low class pair and second, the low class single. *the low class pairs are letters those sounded like high letters but they will have the flat rone instead *the low class singles are the unique ones, don't sound like high letters. **so, here comes the tricky part, they don't make the sound tones linked to their markers. the down tone marker makes the falling tone instead of down. And the falling rone marker makes the up tone instead💀. So, the low letters won't be able to make the down and rising tones cause it will sound like high letters lol (I'm kinda tired, i'll come back to write more if you guys want)

I remember in 7th grade in Thai class, all the thai students were required to take it, we had a spelling test one day, and let's just say almost all of us failed lol I remembered one of the words being ไปรษณีย์ (mail) I don't even know if that's the correct spelling Like bro, why do you have to make some simple words so complicated and needlessly convoluted

it sounds and is absurd... jews are classified under one umbrella term with so many languages, while most people think...wait a minute...shouldnt a tribe or community/ nation accept only one one language? now thinking... no... take turks... and the turkic languages, take turkish... take hungarians some of whom consider themselves turks... yes,its possible... and if turks living in iran and russia consider themselves more turks than iranian or russian, then let them be... what i admired is,that jews were stubborn, and didnt get assimiliated while some turks did...

I think there’s a mistake in your translation. Km̥ta probably means “down”, because it reminds me of Greek κατά, and egʷet probably means he came, since all past tense verbs in your text end with “et” and that form is similar to the reconstructed ancestor of Latin verb uenio (to come).

The writing system is very similar to Indian languages writing systems. We also have set of vowels whose symbols are then combined to consonants to make the sound. Find it very fascinating

Nazi is a made up word. They were the national socialist German workers party NSDAP. It's funny how you accuse them of stealing a word while using a Made up word other than what they called themselves .
