While Pink Floyd's studio albums are lush and beautiful and not to be missed, The PULSE Concert is legendary. It raised the bar that all future concerts will be judged by. Consider reacting to a PULSE version of the next Pink Floyd song you do.

What's not to like, it's Pink Floyd. The message is rather clear I think, a lot about the music business as well as the haves and the have nots. Some serious stinging and twanging guitar notes, too. I love this band and this song.

I do love this song also. Freddie’s vocals always amaze me, in every song. I don’t know if you’d be interested, but Freddie’s solo EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE from the Barcelona album will show you the range he really has. So many Queen songs do that also. LIVE OF MY LIFE live or studio, , and the live version in 1976 of YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY in Hyde Park. You just see his passion there. It’s so moving. HE was so moving. TY for reacting. I love seeing people discover new Queen songs they’d never heard. A lot of the US never heard a bunch of their songs. It’s crazy, but it was the times and our prudism that did that. What a shame. Anyway, many are discovering them NOW.

This is the "official" video as put together for their site. But it's a recent assembly of some background projections they sometimes used for their concerts. I say recent, but like in the past 10 to 15 years, or so. Problem is, it's an edited version of the song. The guitar solo has three sections and the video only plays the first section. It cuts 2 minutes from the solo with a second quieter section and an arguably even better third section. You don't cut David Gilmour solos. The original album track is 6 and a half minutes depending on where you pick the segue into the next track. This video is basically only 4 and a half minutes. The actual single edit takes out a bar of the intro and cuts several bars in the middle of the sax solo as well as the cut to the guitar solo, making it right at 4 minutes long. As an aside, the verse with the prominent bass line is in 7/4 time. It stay in 7/4 through the sax solo. It changes to 4/4 for the guitar solo but goes back to 7/4 for the last verse until it gets to last word "away... away... away..." where it drops back to 4/4 into the fade out.

That line-up is one of my favourites, as it has two drummers. 😊 Nick Mason, one of the original members, and Gary Wallis, who for this tour was switching between drums and percussion. 🙂

Freddie was an untrained singer, never took singing lessons, but he could sing everything, even the telephone book 😁, effortless. He always knew, which one of his many voices has to be pull out of his bundle. This is the only one Queen song with a saxophone solo produced. If you like simple songs/performances, you have to check out You Take My Breath Away, live at Hyde park 76, just Freddie and his piano. Thank you for your Queen journey.

This is such a pretty song. It is John's contribution to the Queen Soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Those studio shots are from the video "The Making of One Vision" it is fun. You should react to it and actually see how they work together to build a song in the studio. If you do decide to react to it, pick the longer version, it is the best.

I absolutely love, love, love this beautiful song……I am so glad you liked it. This is just one of the songs from the sound track for the Highlander movie…..it’s from the 1986 Kind of Magic album. You should give “Who Wants to Live Forever” another chance ……when Freddie sings it live on stage in Budapest…..no orchestra, no tuxedo, just Freddie and his fabulous voice. Please react to the song “A Kind of Magic” …and also “One Vision” both live at Wembley 1986….Thank you for staying with Queen….. there is still a lot more. 😊

If you like this song listen to Bijou. This track was done in an hour by Freddie and Brian and the song was done “inside out” whereby the instrumental is where the lyrics usually are and the lyrics where the guitar solo usually is. In my opinion this is some of Brian’s greatest work.
@Mikey-DiLo3 күн бұрын
This was written by John Deacon for the Highlander movie. The movie is about an immortal man who has a mortal wife and he must watch her age and eventually die. The harmonies were all done by Freddie.

This song is used very effectively in the 2018 Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, during the scene where Freddie Mercury first learns of his AIDS diagnosis. Yikes. It's on KZbin, titled Bohemian Rhapsody Who wants to live forever? scene HQ. (Fun fact : Roger - the blonde drummer - is pouting throughout the MV because he disliked the whole churchy vibe.) 😇

Autotune? That was invented decades later. Tha audio & video were good because they did 2 concerts specifically to create a concert film. That film wasn't finished back then, but the raw material is good and it was finished and released for home video market in the 2000s or so. If you like that, check out Queen's Live Aid performance, and Dire Straits Sultans of Swing Alchemy live, all just wonderful craftmanship.

The worst and most insincere reaction I have watched so far. Instant interruptions, useless commenting (you seemed not to know what to say at all - why on earth did you try then?) and laughing as well as skipping the middle part and the end tells much more about your feelings than your words. OK, not everybody has to be a fan of Pink Floyd, but if you decide to listen to a certain music and you know that it is long then it is natural that it takes its time and you have to be a patient listener, which was obviously not your case. Where did you hurry? You chose this music by your own decision and then you were not able to listen to the whole of it. My impression is that you have totally missed the spirit of this composition - which is nothing wrong - but then I would appreciate you to say it and not to pretend that you liked it. I am not recommending any further "first listening" of any other PF music as to me you have not enough patience to listen to it - although they have also shorter compositions, even songs where - oh yes - they are singing maybe more than playing "just" music. Again - nothing wrong with your not liking this composition, but next time be fair and say your real impressions. You do not need to thank me for watching, I doubt I will come back to you again.

This song was the encore finale of Pink Floyds 1994 Pulse Concert at Earls Court London, that's why the big ending. Pink Floyd is Legendary, one of the GOATs of Rock Music, formed in London in 1965, they've sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide. Pink Floyd is more than just a band, they are an Experience. They are known for their philosophical lyrics, long compositions, sound experimentations, and elaborate live performances and light shows, they are also considered the Greatest Progressive Rock Ever. Their 1973 "Dark Side of the Moon" album is touted by many Rock critics and fans alike, as the Greatest Rock album of all time, it has sold over 55 million copies and still counting. The album still retains the record as the most weeks on Billboards Top 100 Albums of all time list, over 960 weeks,... that's over 18 years on the list. More than double than any other Artist!

Once again had you let the video play out another minute or two to its conclusion, which we now know you have a pattern of not doing, you would have seen the three *original* members of the band come together center stage by themselves to take a bow and thank the audience for coming. These are the three older gentlemen... David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason. Everyone else on stage are back up and road musicians, including the younger lad, Guy Pratt, that you pointed out. His part would normally have been sung by founding member Roger Waters... Lyricist, bassist, and conceptual leader of the band until he left in the mid-80s. This concert was filmed in the early 90s, thus no Roger. Also, despite it's upbeat tone, this song is anything BUT inspirational. In context of the album, it's about gangs of wild fascist racist mobs hunting down and attacking innocent citizens who don't look like them. You really need to listen to the full album "The Wall" or watch the movie to understand better what these songs are all about. "And if you're taking your girlfriend out tonight You'd better park the car well out of sight 'Cause if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks They're gonna send you back to mother in a cardboard box You better run!" - "Run Like Hell"
