Fantastic Manager with great man managment, who is human, who unfortunately has to weather the storm of what is a soft culture. Scouts at every corner of the world have been looking through fence holes, apartment windows with binoculars, rooftops, even an ear beside an open window. It has been going on since the start, and will continue. A bad boy, slap on the wrist, then moving on is perfectly adequate here. Soft culture sucks.

Herdman was overall excellent for Canada, thank you Sir !!!… however, notable exceptions: (1) using drone to spy on competitors (obviously), and never taking accountability for it; (2) not having JDavid pre-selected for PK duties at World Cup (Belgium!); and (3) unnecessarily disrespecting Croatia days before the game began at World Cup

I agree that what John has done for women’s soccer is a legacy. He should have stayed with women as far as I am concerned.

Blurry lines, blurry investigations. Why doesn’t csa punish him through appropriate process instead of tfc basically forcing him to resign?

Great comment Jordan tale of two cities with herdman. He wasn’t crap the job was too big for him quite for every coach. They were cap tied. They have to sell the Italians.

Davies is too tired to play for Canada but not tired enough to avoid getting a DUI at 3am in the morning on a Thursday? I didn't think he should have been named captain but clearly he isn't a leader. I think he should be stripped and given to Eustaquio with Johnston as VC until Davies is more mature

I'm going to have to jump to his defence here: it was 0.06% blood alcohol content at 2:30am, meaning he barely drank (that's like 2 beers) or waited enough to sober up; below 0.08% is not a criminal offence and even places like the UK and Quebec are still at 0.08%. So let's not blow this out of proportion - he basically received a speeding ticket. As for being out till 3am, personally if it doesn't affect his performance and Bayern is fine with it, then it's fine by me. Mental health is constantly talked about nowadays, so if this is how he unwinds then who are we to judge? It's not up to us to ensure he goes to bed every night before 10pm with a glass of warm milk. This brings me to my next point, but considering he's been out of form for the past 2 years (also due to injury), not to mention all the talk about the overloaded soccer schedule, it's a bit disingenuous to compare going out at night with an international window of 2 games covering stops in Florida, Suriname and Toronto. He knows his physical state better than all of us, and it's up to him to weigh the pros and cons together with Marsch and Bayern. Now with Suriname in the rear mirror, I'm glad he didn't risk injury by playing a pretty inferior opponent. He's much more important to us in the Mexico game and hopefully the finals match up. But considering Canada's amazing year with him as captain, the results on the field and the team cohesion is what's most important; which he seemed to be doing a pretty good job of managing so far.

Herdman's ego, quest for power, stubbornness, apparent cheating and chest puffing ultimately will be his legacy. Yes, he got Canada to a new place in soccer and he deserves credit for that. But if we're talking legacy, it's not a great one. Wheeler nailed much of what Herdman is...and it's not a tale of decency or accountability rather it's one of selfishness and narcissism.

I think it shows that he is good at organzing and motivating teams. But as an actual coach, tatics wise he is terrible. He lucked into golden generations with both this national teams. Overall a shitty coach.

The Canadian identity is to be 'above board'. He and Priestman can coach Ukraine or Israel. It was good while it lasted.
