You made the video! Awesome, man! I learned a lot! Thank you so much! I've been practicing your 5 exits video and stepping out with the rear leg is quite natural. But when I try to step out with my lead leg after a 1-2, I feel like its stuck against a curb. It just halts. I was carefully watching you work the bag and I was wondering how you do that step? Do i have too much weight on the lead leg? Thanks again!!
@coachcraiguk
@coachcraiguk 17 күн бұрын
Hey brother yes I made the video so I hope it has helped my friend and yes it sounds like you have to much weight on your front foot so if I’m going to exit right I can load up the back hand and deliver a power shot because I want the weight on the front foot to push me out to the right , if I’m exiting left that has to be a more neutral stance as I have to push from the back leg meaning that the 2 won’t be particularly powerful if that makes sense 👍🥊

Hey man , yeah I know, a lot of people don’t think about it but literally everything starts with your feet and weight distribution, I know a lot of coaches that don’t even think to teach it, quite possibly they were never taught it either but it makes a huge difference for sure, and… correct about what punches I was throwing mate 👍🥊

Great vid coach. With the LR hook, I tend to rotate my shoulder so that I'm almost hitting with a back fist (thumb pointing down, landing with the two large knuckles). This way my fist feels supported because of the shoulder rotation and my whole arm behind it. Feels less like an arm shot and my chin is more protected by the shoulder, due to rotation. If that makes any sense lol. I agree with you re the shovel hook, its not an upper
@coachcraiguk

Thanks for watching brother and yes that makes sense and is another way to throw the hook , it’s not for me personally but that’s probably because I wasn’t taught that way , however I’ve seen plenty of people throw them just like that 👍🥊

@@coachcraiguk Ahh cool, i'll check it out! I have some videos queued right now! It's one of the things i have the most trouble with, making sure i don't lose balance and stand strong with every movement. I'm pretty light, so not getting pushed over is always something in the back of my mind.
@coachcraiguk
@coachcraiguk 23 күн бұрын
I hear you what il do is put it on my list of specific videos to do for the channel as it is a topic that comes up , from a stance point of view if I’m just moving around on the edge of range and popping in and out of range with a jab or cross my weight distribution is 50/50, if I’m countering a lot I’m more 70% on the back leg 30% on the front , if I’m drawing you in ( canelo style ) giving you a target it’s more 70% on the front 30% on the back so I can pull back and make you miss if that makes sense 👍🥊
