As an owner operator I can tell you , I get these calls literally all day long. But when I tell them that I do heavy haul and OS/OW with an RGNE, the rookie dispatch doesn’t have a clue what I m talking about. My advice - learn your stuff before calling.

This is such a stupid policy. You need a DAT to have a carrier and you need a carrier to have a DAT. Plus in this market, no carrier sticks to a single dispatcher all the time. Carriers change dispatchers all the time and would be weird to have your past dispatcher have a seat on your account. A carrier would be constantly juggling, adding and removing new and old dispatchers while dispatchers would be constantly begging every new carrier to give them a seat. If they want to reduce fraud, just tie the account to dispatcher's LLC, ask for verification documents and heck even verification video, and limit what a dispatcher can do such as not being able to post a truck. And allow carriers to give dispatcher account to post trucks or book on their behalf. Like a permission that they can revoke anytime

This policy of DAT does not make any sense. It's not safe if carrier pass the login details to someone else or give them a seat. Better solution would be if dispatcher provided details of their carriers and agreements etc DAT verify it and allow the dispatcher to sign up

Great Maybe those crooks from India will stop calling me with their great loads….they have loads and LEGAL CARRIERS don’t or can’t get good loads. Many are working from abroad,or they are illegal in this country…but they can gets great rates.

There are people that primarily run of loadboards and use dispatchers? Do people realize that rates on loadboards usually are 40+% lower than actual rates, right? Plus, there are people that are willing to primarily run on those low rates and also pay another sucker, I mean a dispatcher ? Stupidity from the carrier’s side… how about this, dispatchers have to bring their own freight, shippers/customers. There is a nice twist and a worthy individual deserving compensation…

@@soniavich1255 There is a lot a dispatcher can offer you, it saves your time looking for load options, planing your route, dealing with different brokers, working on paper work & yea even if you talk about the loadboards, it's not easy to book a load from these boards as well because some loads that are most high paying & good doesn't even last for a minute & that's where a dedicated dispatcher comes who always have an eye on every load & book the best for you in the market.

When I worked in a grocery werehouse, often the driver and the warehouse staff would unload the trucks. But the drivers were paid hourly so they were paid to unload.

The sad thing about the industry as a whole is this isn't the first nor the last time talking about this topic. The message I want to spread is that we are the major stake holder within the industry.. For example if we really wanted to knock the lumpers out the picture any DC that is using that service wont get loads delivered to there docks. We have that power.
