This was a brilliant video Ted. Sue and I were just thrilled see be able to take this journey with you. The vision was superb, and your endless insights and comments made it thoroughly entertaining. You are modern day adventurers and an example to all who watch this. Many thanks to you and Jim from our modest corner of the world in Australia, where we live with our 6 cats, 3 dogs and 9 sheep, the remaining angels from our dozens of lambs down the years. We look fo0rward to more of your challenges. Without you, we could never have seen these wild areas. I felt like we were seeing Pierre Radisson reliving his adventurers in Bay of the North, one of my best ever favourite boyhood books.

Happy New Year from Norway 🎉 Loved your film Ted, thank you for bringing us along 😊 Now that some time has passed, what is your conclusion on that Ally canoe? I have the 16.5" and after I got used to it flexing, I just love it.
@TheRealTedBaird4 күн бұрын
Happy new year! 🇳🇴 I definitely like the Ally for all the reasons it was created. I wouldn't pick it over a hard shell 90% of the time if given the option simply because it isn't as durable or manuverable and likely can not handle as large Rapids. But it allows access to areas that are otherwise not, it's light and versatile and is Definitely a win

arent you suposed to boil the water b4 you drink it???
@TheRealTedBaird4 күн бұрын
Yes boil, filter or treat it with purification tabs or drops. However some lakes and spots are lower risk and are fine to drink but there is always a chance of getting sick so best to treat the water.
@redsresearch4 күн бұрын
@TheRealTedBaird why would you get sick?
@TheRealTedBaird4 күн бұрын
@redsresearch in this area Giardia is the main concern. It is a parasite that can make you sick. In other areas of the world, there are far more sinister parasites, bacteria, and viruses to be worried about that can be in untreated water. Boiling is generally the best method to purify water. The length of the boil depends on where in the world as some viruses and parasites can live longer in hot water. Here, 1 min boil is plenty. But it is important to remember that water boils at a lower temperature in higher elevations, so in rare cases that needs to be considered for safety.

Incredible film!! Very inspiring. Watching from Toronto, ON! Few questions: what calibre and shell for firearm? What tent model is that MSR? What DSLR cam and mic are you running? Would love a video or description of your gear and how you were able to film this!!! Incredible!🎉❤
@TheRealTedBaird7 күн бұрын
Thank you. I use a Full Frame Sony Mirrorless and RODE mic, two Gopro Hero 12 a DJI drone and a Camcorder. The specifics of these don't matter a whole lot for ex a Hero 10 would be fine etc or different cameras. But I do shoot in 4k tent is a MSR Remote 3. A gear vid would be cool in the future 🍻 thx for tuning in

Love the content man. Question for you. Do you often eat lunch in the river or lake? The reason I ask is because in alot of your video's that involve water, when you talk about eating lunch, you call it shore lunch. I've never heard you say deep woods lunch or water lunch. I don't know why that caught my attention, but now I can't stop wondering about it. 😂😂
@TheRealTedBaird6 күн бұрын
Thx. We refer to a lunch of fresh caught fish as a shore lunch. That will be eaten on the shore of said river or lake 🎣🛶👍

I love how in one video someone proves global warming over and over and over again. The lake wasn't frozen. The water levels are low. There is an increase in insects. This is all shit scientists have been saying since the 60-70s. Lmao
@TheRealTedBaird7 күн бұрын
While I agree there are signs of Global warming in this video, it is also natural in the Arctic Barren Grounds for Ice to be gone from the lakes by this date and thus the water becomes low quickly after. They were also warning of the next ice age in the 70s lol. I'm not denying Global warming the signs are everywhere, especially in this region. However, the lack of ice at this date and low water isn't necessarily caused by that in this case. Also there is not an increase in insects. But to that point there were possibly less than normal which may be an indication of hotter than usual temperatures which IMO we had
