Just got a 2014 s550 about a month ago and its the best car I've ever had. Added a tune to it and it has monster power now. Its nearly completely silent inside. I prefer the interior to the w223 too. I think its one of the best used cars for the $.

Superb review. Esp the note of the 2UR-GSE is on dot. You did a great justice to the RC F. I have an IS 500, 2UR is a master class engine. But when I test drove an RC F, its a totally different experience. The chassis is extremely solid. Lexus sadly downgraded it in 2023+ they removed the Driver Memory, Engine Bracing, Ambient lighting, Door cup lighting etc also key component TVD is also gone. I would love to swap my IS 500 for an RC F new but the downgrades are really unfortunate. Fingers crossed to own one of the RC F hopefully.

@@AutoWisdom It is sadly. My guess is they are just keeping it barely alive to get the last ounce of the platform as the sales are very low and to just have it homologated for the GT3 RC F Race car mandate. In 2026 they are getting a new GT3 Race car that will replace the RC F. The new one will be Twin Turbo V8 and probably will be limited quantity and over $150K for sure. World will truly miss it then and many will realize what it was. I believe they will kill the 2UR-GSE engine as a whole for good.

The owner installed the downpipes himself. And you will not pass smog in California if you are running catless downpipes.

This car is a SULEV meaning it’s equipped with the N51 engine which has the 3-stage manifold from factory.

i bought a 2010 328 x drive with a 6 speed, single hump and sport interior last year and the thing actually feels like such a composed mature car. She drives great right out the box, is kind to my wallet (so long as you take care of the weak points to the engine) and is a bang for your buck modern bmw. I’ve got it on some D Force LTW5s and waiting on bilstein suspension. love my car

Reliability was good overall for the owner, however it's important to note that he was very particular with maintenance. Frequent oil change intervals, preventative replacement of spark plugs, coil packs, etc. These backroads are located near Palomar Mountain!

As a German, I have a question. How high are the maintenance costs for such a car in the USA? I keep noticing that, on the one hand, cars in the USA are advertised by their price. On the other hand, these are cars with a lot of horsepower and a set of tires would cost a fortune in Germany. All wear parts would cost more in relation to models with smaller engines. The same goes for insurance and tax. Do Americans not worry about such things, or is it so much cheaper in the USA?

Sales tax rates are based on the local county that you live in here in California. So for example my county's sales tax rate is 7.75% and this is what you would pay for tax based on the purchase price of the vehicle. Maintenance can be costly of course, this owner knew how to do most of the maintenance himself which saved a lot of money. Here in Southern California, there is an abundance of high performance shops that specialize in exotic and European cars, so thankfully it promotes competition and helps to keep maintenance prices somewhat reasonable.

Great review - I couldn't agree more. The only real annoyance is the body roll in tight turns. 130K on mine, still bone stock, zero major issues. I bought her brand new, and I can confidently say that it's the best purchase I've ever made.

Wow what a quality review. Expected you had a lot more subs. Been looking at this car recently and its such a beaute. I belive its too powerful for a 20 yo newer driver, but this is something I will look at in the future. And you are spot on with the ageless design, it looks brand new, and could easily fit in with newer cars even 10 years from now.

I have a 16 z06 red 3lz A8. 2 tone red and black leather interior, full ground effects in carbon fiber, carbon ceramic brakes, non z07, I also have carbon fiber interior as well as dual roof package. One is exposed carbon fiber and the other is the transparent top. So Im pretty loaded even with carbon fiber. The only thing missing is the competition seats which I heard are uncomfortable, z07 package, and the visible carbon fiber hood insert. By the way at the 7:51 mark isn't that where Paul Walker died? 😬

I’ve had my e92 328xi for over 7 years, and it’s in my opinion one of the best value for the money if you’re looking for something sporty, German, fairly practical for a coupe, reliable, easy to work on, and it’s got great comfort features and styling especially for its age. The only bad thing about mine… is that I’m going to have to list it for sale within a week since we need something bigger like an SUV 😢. I’m definitely going to miss mine… I remember watching one of your videos before I bought my BMW(I think you had a black 335i in black) when I was doing research on e92 cars. It was very useful. Thank you.
