Is itjust me, or do those female soldiers look a little on the chubby side? Are Army weight standards not in force any more?
@carlhicksjr8401

Three things: 1. Part of it is the fit of the jacket. that split tail does nothing for the female figure. 2. Most women are 'hippy' and have a rump. Madison Ave. insists that a woman's hips should not exceed the width of her shoulders, but real women aren't built like that. 3. Most of the most incredible physical specimens I met on active duty didn't look like it. One particular guy was built like a fireplug, short and squat. He couldn't run fast, but he could run all freaking day long. Totally not kidding. I watched him do a 5-miler running AROUND the company. Another guy I knew was tall, skinny, built like a green bean on a diet, but he could bust out 75 pushups and 75 sit ups on the APRT. Don't judge a book by it's cover, bro.

Hey man, I have a question since you did infantry. I’m going to basic this august, and my MOS is 11C so I’m going into OSUT. I just wanted to ask, do they teach how to swim in basic? Because I don’t know how to swim, and I’ve seen that people must complete a exam that involves swimming.
@jnew535
@jnew535 3 ай бұрын
@grandprairiehsdrumline4730 So, you will have a Combat Water Survival Assessment during OSUT during Red Phase (first two weeks of training). Don't worry, it's not difficult. For my class, the test was like, half an hour in the pool tops. You swam to right where your feet couldn't touch the bottom, took off your boots and pants and trap air in your pants to make a makeshift flotation device. Then we jumped in the water with helmet, rucksack, and rubber duck (rubber M4) and swam a third of the pool length and back, crawled out, and that was it. The whole time there were lifguards in the pool who would save you if you were that bad (don't hang on to them). You can definitely pass without knowing how to swim, as long as you're confident. There were several dudes in my class who didn't know how to swim and the cadre spent some brief moments with them showing them how to not drown before the assessment. If you're that worried it wouldn't hurt to swim a little in your local pool, but only to the point of building some basic confidence. The test isn't hard enough that you need to be a strong swimmer to pass. Just don't panic lol. Good luck bro, congrats on enlisting

@grandprairiehsdrumline4730 yeah, man! also, you're gonna run a decent bit at osut, so if you're not already running start that too. the four months we got until august is more than enough time to build enough running conditioning for OSUT, even if someone was a couch potato starting today. good luck again bro, happy i could help

Being a follower of Jesus isn’t easy, even though many people say it is. The truth is, when you have the spirit of Christ, people with the spirit of antichrist know who you are. But even then, Jesus said in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” So yes, with Jesus I overcome all the problems that get in my way.
