@@joesapyta6389 In garrison I’d say it’s the same as the army but our machine gunners get wild in the barracks on the weekend like it’s a frat party, in the field and all the hikes and physical stuff is definitely straining and sometimes can be stressful but overall I love my job.How’s the army going for you, I heard AIT is the army equivalent of a schoolhouse for us to learn our jobs

Congrats on your upcoming graduation. I graduated infantry OSUT October last year, feels great to gtfo and go home lol

Hey man, I have a question since you did infantry. I’m going to basic this august, and my MOS is 11C so I’m going into OSUT. I just wanted to ask, do they teach how to swim in basic? Because I don’t know how to swim, and I’ve seen that people must complete a exam that involves swimming.

@grandprairiehsdrumline4730 So, you will have a Combat Water Survival Assessment during OSUT during Red Phase (first two weeks of training). Don't worry, it's not difficult. For my class, the test was like, half an hour in the pool tops. You swam to right where your feet couldn't touch the bottom, took off your boots and pants and trap air in your pants to make a makeshift flotation device. Then we jumped in the water with helmet, rucksack, and rubber duck (rubber M4) and swam a third of the pool length and back, crawled out, and that was it. The whole time there were lifguards in the pool who would save you if you were that bad (don't hang on to them). You can definitely pass without knowing how to swim, as long as you're confident. There were several dudes in my class who didn't know how to swim and the cadre spent some brief moments with them showing them how to not drown before the assessment. If you're that worried it wouldn't hurt to swim a little in your local pool, but only to the point of building some basic confidence. The test isn't hard enough that you need to be a strong swimmer to pass. Just don't panic lol. Good luck bro, congrats on enlisting

@@jnew535 thank you! And this is so helpful, thank you so much for this help, it was just my only worry about OSUT. I’ll be sure to swim for a bit before I leave for training. Thank you once again!!!

@grandprairiehsdrumline4730 yeah, man! also, you're gonna run a decent bit at osut, so if you're not already running start that too. the four months we got until august is more than enough time to build enough running conditioning for OSUT, even if someone was a couch potato starting today. good luck again bro, happy i could help

How would you think a 12 November ait in fort Leonard wood would be? I already graduated basic in fort sill but i gotta complete high school. Good shit tho my man!
@Fil_AmLife5 ай бұрын
I am not a 12N so I do not know what it will be like. Most AIT’s do let you have your phone though, and have phases where you get more privileges like going within a few miles from your battalion or even going out of base for the weekend. Good luck in your future endeavors!!

I noticed in your bio you are a follower of Jesus. How is it in there for someone who genuinely follows Him?

It’s good, everyone supports you. There will be people that won’t want to talk about it though
@Fil_AmLife5 ай бұрын
Being a follower of Jesus isn’t easy, even though many people say it is. The truth is, when you have the spirit of Christ, people with the spirit of antichrist know who you are. But even then, Jesus said in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” So yes, with Jesus I overcome all the problems that get in my way.
