Fantastic car, I test drove it as Shah Alam and the interior quality blew my mind and prompted me to put a booking on the same day. Sadly I asked for a refund on my booking after careful consideration over the next week. On paper, the SUV has superb value, however on the overall I think Proton is shortchanging the rakyat. First of all is the battery, LFP technology is the way to go, but the range is abysmal at 345km WLTP for the Prime, while the Premium ups to 410km which is a barely acceptable figure since we are using a total of 80% (100% to 20%) of the battery which translates to roughly 330km. Using 100% often is a cause of concern for battery health. Secondly, 19" tyres going to be a wallet slayer in the long run. 17" high profile or 18" in the Prime would've made more sense being a brand for the rakyat. The hidden cup holder in the middle was always being unlocked when I rest my arm on the console to navigate the screen. Both are minor stuff but worth taking note. Third, the bloody annoying pinging when low speeds to warn passerby, I was informed that it could be turned off, but fella failed to do so and I was cheesed off having to hear it throughout the ride. Fourth, signal stalk, sorry but wtf, it's one thing Proton being a snob for mimicking Europe in their left signal stalk, but the whole damn drive selector is on the right stalk? Don't copy Mercs la walau, why do you think BMW has a whole crystal selector in the middle? When queried if there's a N mode, my SA said no N mode needed, just use P. My guy doesn't understand the importance of Neutral. Fifth and final, too much electronics in both variants, especially Premium variant. Also, 12 in 1 integrated motor? Expect to change all 12 items in 1 go if something goes wrong somewhere. Why Perodua Myvi is king besides it's speed? Cus when individual items get wrecked over time, we only replace that item. Ah don't mind me, I do have a Perodua.
