Happy with my Metabo BDE 1100 - 2 gears that is nice for larger drill bits. I have not measured it - probably going to after this video but it fit like a glove and work like a beast.

Saludos.

Does anyone have any ideas for making the holes smaller? I bought a multi-grip bar and the ends are only 1.9 inches so my plates rattle all around, even with specialty clips that I bought. I wrapped some aluminum foil tape around the ends of the bar but that's only a temporary fix since it gets beat up quick.

I cant remember it that well. But at 19:57 I tried to show the spring. At 20:00 I zoomed in but its a bit too blurry and dark. But as I remembered the spring is hooked inside the upper hood (Cover). And there is also a gap in the cover that springs back, you need to hook in the spring there as well. I hope I could help a bit.

What happened to your Pfaff with cool custom edge guide?
@Baerenson
@Baerenson 6 ай бұрын
The little Pfaff 133 is stored right now. Its a very sturdy and reliable machine. The edge guide is made exclusivly for the 133 but should also be universal to the point that it can be used on my recent black Pfaff 34. But some measurements of the 34 doesnt fit with the edge guide. I needed a bigger machine because I need more flat bed and the 133 is very compact, made it hard to fit the uppers through. This way I can train freehand stitching. The edge guide is actually laying on the black sewing machine.

Lol, satisfaction achieved! i've spent maybe half an hour browsing oxford shoes with a commando sole with your video paused, learned alot of terms. I like your's take much better, because of an appeasing toe and not that *ballerina type, three toes on the foot* style. one question: how the inserts are made so that it feets your number? scanning or molding? It'd been a chaplin's ending, if the whole *werkstatt* collapsed because of that insert flying off
@Baerenson
@Baerenson 8 ай бұрын
You can buy premanufactured lasts (insert) in various sizes. Also you can choose the style, shape and heel height (heel height is called "Sprengung" in germany). There are last that are preshaped to fit misalignments. From your choosen last you can start and modificate it by adding material such as cork or leather aso. Of course you can take material off the last. That way you can shape the last to a feet. I saw people changing last by adding shapes with epoxy, but iam not a big fan of that. Some month ago, I saw a guy on youtube who made a foam scan of the feet and made a last by pouring some sort of cast resin into a mold. It looked like milk. In my case I took the route with premanufactured lasts and changed them to what I measured. A shoemaker said in a video that a shoe is more of an abstraction of an foot. I like the idea, it gives me more ease in the process not think about perfection. Yeah dissambling the last from the shoe is really hard work. Second part was flying almost against the ceiling across the room.

part 3 is coming soon? how to attach outer sole and why did you cut the leather from all the rounded parts if it's gonna be facing downwards and connected to sole? it's kinda good from a attention to details, but is it really the way to properly do it or what? and the same question about nails, could staples be used and just left inside? not a shoemaker and just admiring the multitude of skills and interests. thank you
@Baerenson
@Baerenson 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! It motivated me to finish part 3. Its uploaded now. This a stitchdown construction. You could use staples with the right lenght I guess. Never tried it, this is my first shoe. But I saw a video of an shoemaker who used a staple gun. Iam not a shoemaker, but I love the craft.

@@Baerenson i started to watch your videos about drilling stands and now realised that you are a da vinci type of our times, i myself too get carried away with new stuff and hobbies and everything is interesting. And a couple of days i thought to myself, that it must be some type of a disorder...assburger ))) or shit like that, because once i feel like i know how to do something, my interest fades away instantly Keep up the self discovery! Thank you fo videos! P.S. About the shoes, i tend to streamline everything i get into, noticed that i like to make templates and such for *mass production*, but your way is better because if you do something right, should do without cutting corners, even if it is not visible, but the thought and attention to details is what matters the most. P.P.S one more edit. You sense of humor and delivery/video edits killed me!!! (in kb 43 stand)

@@kreksfeks1200 That describe me actually pretty well. There's so much interesting stuff and new things to learn. Sometimes I wanted to do 3 projects at once. But its really exhausting to do multiple projects with focus on details and give it quality time. So I try to not overwelm me with input. This year I got so carried away by all the stuff I tried, I couldnt stay focused on my shoes. Drilling Stands are awesome, I have some future ideas, theres still something to learn. For example wanna compare it to tabletop drilling machines.
