I actually pulled the Window air-conditioner out. I can run it, but if its that hot I'm either by water or I just stay home. Last year we did 30 nights throughout summer, never missed the AC unit. This year, due to schedules, we are only going to use it on one 10 day trip going up to stay at a lake by Glacier Park, and go into Glacier a couple of days. Every night we will be by Streams, rivers or at a lake. The window unit pretty much keeps the Bed area cool, with the curtain drawn.

@@danalbert5877 thanks for the reply Dan, we were just camping for 3 nights up here in BC, Canada at Golden ears campground and it was way too hot, the sites are a hike away from the lake so there was no breeze at night. FALSE. I'm 2 years in with the Gladiator, and it pulls the 3500 pound trailer thru the Rockies easily with the 8 speed transmission. I pull my trailer to places with Jeep Gladiator that my 2021 Ram diesel 2500 will never fit or go. not sure what you are driving, but I'm remote off road boondocking, no National Park campgrounds for us when we have the trailer. We Air BNB it or stay at the lodge for those big parks. However, lets see your boondocking rig since your so critical. Our family did 30 nights with this setup last year, 8 different trip. Thanks for enabling comments. We just bought a 174BH for similar purposes, albeit possibly a little more touring where we may not stay in the same campsite every night. With your changes I can only assume that the weight has gone up a bit and the weight distribution has changed somewhat, how has that played out in off-pavement performance of the trailer? My tow rig will be a crew cab longbed Nissan Frontier coming in around 5000lb, so probably similar weight to your Gladiator but longer wheelbase.

Besides the spare tire, I carry 6 gallons of water in a jug and 5 gallons of gas in a Jerry can, thats it. 1000 watt inverter generator is on the tongue where the batteries are factory installed. @danalbert58775 жыл бұрын
Vicky, it was most definitely the Radios, I worked directly with Midland engineers to get it repaired so the 2nd gen radios wouldn't have this issue. It had to do with the weather band circuitry in the MXT115's, 2nd I've had my GMRS license a long time. I've built solar powered GMRS repeaters and did retrans for the ARMY. I've been a HAM radio operator for 18 years. KD7RBW. I'm quite familiar with my radios, rules and antenna theory, and last time I read the Part 95 rules, you could not have a 40 watt base, only a 40 watt mobile. So I will re-read to see if it has changed. Thank you for your unsolicited diagnosis and expertise.

what I am hearing sounds like a transformer hum, you might need a little bigger power supply in the house, to small of a power supply will cause this or possibly a cheap power supply. or you might need a filter (basically a big capacitor) in the car on the power wire to cut out electrical interference from the car you can get one at most electronics shops or at any truck stop.

these "low parts count" radios are based on a chip that has severe limitations. 1) The deviation is narrow band +/- 2.5 KHz (11k0F3E or lower) while the GMRS service permits +/- 5.0 KHz (16K0F3E) so right off the bat the deviation is compressed. Secondly, I think the receiver SDR implementation is poor and there is no FM limiting to reduce multipath noise which is a common complaint on some radios using this chip set. Save your money and but a decent 50 watt LMR type radio that meets EIA/TIA 603D.
