I’ll do an update this weekend. Tire is back on the rear again. Added a small genny to the rear bumper to run AC when needed. Biggest change is upgraded leaf springs, offset wheels and bigger offroad tires from Cooper. I can now lower the tire pressure for dirt roads to smooth it out.

Just picked one of these up used, late 2018 manufacture. Wish your more current videos had comments enabled on them since you've made subsequent changes. Mine has roof-mount HVAC instead of the cabinet-mount, might've been a dealer-installed unit instead of factory. Are you able to run your HVAC on your new battery/inverter setup?
@danalbert58773 жыл бұрын
I'll see if I can enable them

I think I got it. Originally I checked the "this video is ok for Kids" box which disabled comments .
@TWX11383 жыл бұрын
@@danalbert5877 Yeah, KZbin decided that they needed to disable comments on videos-for-kids because unfortunately some people were making inappropriate comments about kids featured in videos featuring them. Since they're attempting to run this site with as few staff as possible, they don't have the means to police inappropriate comments, so for those videos for children, comments are simply disabled.

On the flood lights is there an on/off switch as well as motion. Say I didn’t want to have them on all the time? Etc. it would be nice to have them. But I wouldn’t want them coming on while glamping

I'm considering buying one of these but I did a walk-through on when I can just tell that the construction is so cheap. Is this thing holding up for you? If you had to do it again would you recommend buying this or simply getting a enclosed trailer and converting it to an RV?
@danalbert58775 жыл бұрын
Mando Morlos , I would do it again. I’ve dragged this trailer thru creeks and up goat trailers that I had to chainsaw my way into. Just get the Baja version.

@MilitaryMobility4 жыл бұрын
As we're looking to invest in a camper for our expeditions, we had also thought about converting an enclosed trailer but the cost estimates didn't shake out for us. True enough campers aren't built to what most of our standards would be however it seems if you choose a decent brand (like Jayco) and can do some troubleshooting/ repairs/ upgrades yourself, you should have a reliable platform.

Hi, I just bought a jay flight 195RB. How did you attach your solar panels to the roof? Did you screw into studs? What kind of tires do you have on that? Also, so you hooked your shore power cord into your inverter? How? Thanks!

until I get pictures to you, ,,,,, I'll give you the parts list. stainless or zinc plated 2" L-brackets, 1/2" stainless steel screws with washers, lock washers and lock nuts to mount the L brackets to the aluminum frame of the solar panel. Then I used Henry's clear rubber roof patch on the bottoms of the L-brackets to glue the solar panels to the roof where I wanted them. I used 2 zinc or stainless wood screws to screw the L-brackets to the roof. Topped off the head of the screws with more Henry's clear roof patch. Dealer inspected my roof and liked what they saw. Pics to follow.
@markhowarth52945 жыл бұрын
Dan Albert Thanks, Dan. Did you screw into joists/studs or just into roof decking where you wanted? It’s my understanding these rooves have 3/8 plywood under the rubber and 1x1 joists/studs every few feet or so. You used 1/2” screws to screw into the roof?

Where did you buy the trailer rack in the front for your batteries and spare tire?
Did you remove the underbelly cover in order to do all the wiring for your setup?
@danalbert58774 жыл бұрын
some yes, other wires I have rerun since then, like the batteries are under the rear lower bunk bed (they are now sealed and the generator is up front where the batteries were originally). Everything has been tucked up/ tied up tighter than it ever was since it was new.

@@danalbert5877 Hi, great video. Sounds like you are now running a generator? We are looking at getting the Baja 267BH but I'm not seeing any space for a generator, we have both a Honda 2000 and a Honda iu7000 inverter generator. I definitely want to run solar but don't know if it'll cover use for a crew of around 6 persons. Thoughts?

Did you use anything to support your bumper? Thanks
@danalbert58774 жыл бұрын
sorry, been out camping. which bumper? tow vehicle or trailer rear bumper? I have updated a few things, but no, the rear bumper is not modified. Batteries are now sealed AGM's(2) and they are located under the rear bunk by the hot water tank. Besides the spare tire, I carry 6 gallons of water in a jug and 5 gallons of gas in a Jerry can, thats it. 1000 watt inverter generator is on the tongue where the batteries are factory installed. The Generator is mostly used to charge the batteries when the solar panels aren't enough, but that is hardly ever.
