David Love USED to do a very good Gman impression, but around 3 years ago he ruined it. I don't really why but he changed the accent to be kind of... English? When he first exploded in popularity for thr Gman voice he nailed it, but he's been pretty bad at it since.

You're playing the 2015's version of Nightmare House 2. I prefer the good old 2010's because it keeps a more serious and less cartoonish attire. But it still remains and will always remain a great mod for Half-Life 2.

It's baffling that the GM behind this one proceeded to be the same guy behind TheSurvivorOfAll.

This mod is everything I've wanted from Cinematic Mod, even on it's own, CM is graphically amazing but aesthetically kinda ugly even if you choose not to have the custom character models and graffiti. Shit like ferns, giant freight cranes and ships for docks that aren't big enough to support them, a bridge to nowhere, THE FUCKING FERNS. This mod removes a lot of the stupid non-sensical details while keeping things CM actually did well. Granted, I do still have some problems with the mod. While I like the dark Ravenholm for the most part I wish some of the lights were kept on so the player still had guidance as it's one of those things you really only notice when the game is lacking it. Now granted, I don't want literal FUCKING YELLOW PAINT on everything but some more subtle changes like leaving some lights by important areas would be nice.

Yes, Zen was kinda annoying, because by this point you just want to finish the game. But the level I actually disliked the most was Power Up, followed closely by Residue Processing. I don't even know why.

The lack of infinite flashlight is pretty shitty but I think that Ravenholm looks pretty damn good.

Things like this is why HL2 is such a great game. Valve didn't get attached to the first design they came up with. They iterated, playtested, scrapped and cut, redesigned, until the maps felt just right. This is true artistic process 👩‍🎨

The only bad thing I can say is that a lot of the mod so far doesn't look "GoldSRC" enough. Other than that, it's really nice to see it coming along.

I personally like to believe that On A Rail was meant to be a horror segment, on account of the "The Horror" sound effects and its desolate setting, but it was either dropped early on or reverted due to it not hitting the mark. Source: I am trying to convincing myself that it wasn't just made this bad

With how some people argue about this remaster I feel that what they really want is just another half life source Don't remasterize literally nothing, just porting the base game to the newer engine and call it a day

the lighting in this was insane for the release, and the texture work

so i'm having this problem after installing: when loading a map, it effectively loads but the screen stays locked on the loading bar. also happens when loading thru the console. anyone knows how to fix this?

Gonna be honest, the "Pick up your can" area being changed so much doesn't look nice. I like the sunlight from the windows, not the combine light. I also don't like the time of day changes, it's not true to the original. Ravenholm looks like garbage.
