@chocolates1825 күн бұрын
cool trick, i wonder why this works?
@mcdemyr5 күн бұрын
I believe it is because most flying insects are not as capable as us of detecting colours in the “warmer” wavelengths and are therefore not as attracted to these lights
@DIYAdventureNZ5 күн бұрын
Yep, as said above, they just cant see the Yellow colour, so they aren't attracted to it like the white light.

That table can't be reached by the front passenger seat (unless there's a drop-leaf extension). You can't even sit up on that drop-down bed......would drive me CRAZY. Glad it works 4u, though.
@DIYAdventureNZ5 күн бұрын
Yep you can reach the table by the front passenger, and generally you lay in bed, not sit. But that is the compromise of a MWB and fitting four people in it.

I don’t want to drill holes in my Campervan. Is it possible to not use the ventilation or will it cause too much moisture in the toilet that it will eventually stink out the van?

I was watching your install and you’ve just cost me more money. 😂 Hahaha. I have just installed the same system but I saw you have an electronic solenoid to stop coolant going to the heater. We have to do ours manually. I jumped on the phone to Juan at Deiselheat and said mate I gotta have the upgrade. It can be done but I have to wait till January before he has stock.

I’m loving the videos guys. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the 12v electromagnetic locks work. I was going to do the same but decided to go with 12v micro electronic actuators because when they’re fully extended or contracted they draw zero power.
@DIYAdventureNZ26 күн бұрын
Probably a better idea. So far they have been very fiddly to install and very painful as have to be exactly lined up! You’d have more play with the actuators.
@OzSafe126 күн бұрын
@ Yeah I bought a few different types of electromagnetic locks to have a play and like you found them too fiddly, especially for an old man with too many thumbs and not enough patience. 🤣

The design, manufacture, quality and engineering is definitely worth quite a bit. And the ability to have the automatic mixing with the ability of still removing the bucket rather than taking out the whole toilet to empty like others, is also worth the $.

Hi guys, I'm about to get started on a very similar (albeit smaller) build and had already picked out the happijac, Wee Make Change and Fibre Prospecs before I saw this series! I was just wondering where you got your plywood from and what you ended up paying for it? I was looking at Duralite because my goal was to not use anything that can rot, but then you need all sorts of extrusions and trims so I'm going back down the plywood route. I'd either look at a timer veneer like you guys or possibly HPL.

@tiffanymorton5452Ай бұрын
Hi there! Curious if you all have gotten to the solar install yet? I am currently there on my van build and am trying to determine the best approach for getting the included solar wire (with the MC4 connectors already installed) through a roof gland. I've tried two glands already and neither have worked. I can't find much research on it. Other people I have asked said they've either cut the existing ones and reinstalled new ones after threading the wire through the gland, or some say you can pull the MC4 housing off and thread through, but I've tugged pretty hard on mine and havent been able to get them to release. Ecoflow support wasnt helpful at all, ha.
@DIYAdventureNZАй бұрын
Hi Tiffany, not quite at the Solar install stage as yet. However I have installed solar on our last van and caravan so have some experience. The MC4 connectors unscrew and pull off, there is a metal piece that folds onto the wire inside the connector; this will break off and you will need to buy a replacement (they are super cheap). Other wise you can just buy new MC4 connectors and just cut the cable, strip the wire and feed through the gland, its really easy to do.

@DIYAdventureNZ2 ай бұрын
That’s a great question. As with any compost you can compost the paper too. So we have been putting it down into the compost area but depending on how long wr are away for we might put number 1 papers into a waste paper basket next to the toilet. But we haven’t done that yet. Number 2 paper definitely goes down.
