It’s pretty easy to install, the hardest part was the 240v but the sparky got his head around it in the end and had done a great job

Hi there! Curious if you all have gotten to the solar install yet? I am currently there on my van build and am trying to determine the best approach for getting the included solar wire (with the MC4 connectors already installed) through a roof gland. I've tried two glands already and neither have worked. I can't find much research on it. Other people I have asked said they've either cut the existing ones and reinstalled new ones after threading the wire through the gland, or some say you can pull the MC4 housing off and thread through, but I've tugged pretty hard on mine and havent been able to get them to release. Ecoflow support wasnt helpful at all, ha.

Hi Tiffany, not quite at the Solar install stage as yet. However I have installed solar on our last van and caravan so have some experience. The MC4 connectors unscrew and pull off, there is a metal piece that folds onto the wire inside the connector; this will break off and you will need to buy a replacement (they are super cheap). Other wise you can just buy new MC4 connectors and just cut the cable, strip the wire and feed through the gland, its really easy to do.

I have a 30 amp rv that I need more power in for a portable ac. Can I buy the eco flow system and use it while the rv is already plugged in to shore power?

We aren’t sure unfortunately as New Zealand runs lower amperage as we have higher volts. Sounds like a great question for EcoFlow though.
