They need to figure out how to make fishing line with this stuff and fish netting. The animals, like seals, routinely get killed because the fishing lines and nets enwrap their necks when they are young and as they grow bigger, it winds up killing them slowly.

My favorite alternate way to plastic is a cassava, they don't contain microplastic and *maybe can be eaten

Sounds promising, I would try it, what does the product look like when it breaks down, and can it be used again?
@ddxyzz22 сағат бұрын
I think the only way to make these replacements cheaper is to just waste all of our oil until it gets not rentable to make plastic
@ddxyzz22 сағат бұрын
I know I know it may sound bad... But what's matter if the oil industry is the only one's deciding what to sell?

THE WHITE V SHAPE IS CALLED A "CHEVTON", GENIUS! 🍀
ive been hoping for something like this to become mainstream for a long time, I recently saw a bio-degradable straws at my jewel a feel weeks ago and got excided and bought some to try and it was no different from a normal plastic straw! i even left it chilling over night in a drink for a test and it was fine! it was odd having to tell myself to put it in the garbage instead of recycling it haha i think all disposable plastic should be bio-degradable!

1,000 feet per second? More like 1,000 per minute! It would be going 2500 mph to achieve 1,000 feet per second!!

Good luck with that. While it is true that biopolymers have been around for decades, and make perfectly suitable disposable, degradable plastic shopping bags, the duck squeezers still insist on making us use canvass and other expensive items to pack our groceries into. And now they insist on making us use wooden eating utensils because... eco friendly. They are poor quality and feel revolting in your mouth. You see, it's not about being sustainable or eco friendly, it's all about making our lives more expensive and spartan. And THAT, my friend, is the problem.

Not one mention of long term health safety study. Does any of this new resin leach nanoparticles into the food if its a container, eating utensils? I wouldn't use it until there was a published medical review about the amount of nanoparticle leaching.

Just curious if this is the same utensils they use at CAVA. Because if so I’ve noticed multiple times their forks cut my lips when I eat with these specific ones. Maybe it’s just poor manufacturing, or maybe it’s an issue that needs to be looked into.

How do they propose to make it practical? Sure, you can take a fork fresh from the production line and it works fine. What about large scale fast food outlets that may choose to buy in bulk and store boxes of disposable cutlery in a storeroom at various locations around the country? The box may be in transit via the distribution network for a couple of weeks/months, then it might sit in a warehouse/store room for another few months. What happens if you open a box of forks that were manufactured 5-6 months previous and they are already compromised??? Just curious!

Fun fact: Because of their abundance, scientists found out that they are in fact around 500k to 1 million actual species of them. And it's possible that they are 10 times more successful than their jointed legged cousins, the arthropods.
