I know I'm a couple of months behind your learning curve; however, you can view the 'health' of all your ship parts by pressing the X key. the redder the part the more broken it is.

I'm not aware of one, though I'm not quite sure where you'd look to try and do that.
@Josh-ye9ol6 күн бұрын
So. I been watching a lot of this game, and i hope to pick it up soon. But i have to ask as a guy who has watched a lot of people play this. Why do you all go for building up rather then trimming down. The more i watch you all dump hours into building a ship up out in the bone yard. I wonder why not strip a huge ship out. And stash away premo goods on the flotilla. Then when that hull is evaluated and priced down, pick it up cheap. Fly out some basics, and limp it over to the flotilla for major overhaul. Cut out the ship you want from the floorplan firm it all up and scrap all the floating loose leftovers. Then stuff it full of all the amenities you been squirling away
@mochad4 күн бұрын
That's something to try. I think it takes a lot of effort to get to the point where you can do that, though. You need space on your ship to haul stuff back to sell, so that you can pay off your ship, so that you can buy the stripped out hull.
@serratedpython45688 күн бұрын
how did you get that ship thats not the one that was in your first video?
@mochad7 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what ship you're referring to from the first video--that video was strictly about character creation. In the creation process, there was an event that included a ship, but I didn't select it. But, as I recall, we never leave the starting room in that video.

@Kestral6910 күн бұрын
I didn't mind it so much, but I prefer commentary because I'm not so familiar with the game that I know what's going on just from watching it. Like, I didn't notice right away that you left Phoebe behind, and I'm not sure if that was intentional or an accident.
@mochad9 күн бұрын
So, Phoebe--I didn't intend to leave her behind. I thought she was on the ship--then she wasn't. I'm guessing while I got docking clearance she disembarked (because I didn't turn that off...) When I came back, she was listed as deceased. :( To quote a Weird Al song, "Why does this always happen to me?!?" She had the Weber, and a full EVA suit when she walked.

The fact that VORB is in orbit and that you're approaching obliquely (rather than directly in front or behind) will account for a lot of that "drift." You have to kind of "chase" the station with lots of different inputs. We see this in OKLG as well, but the rotation is slower so it doesn't seem as wild. If you position yourself directly behind the station and [K] match speed first before doing the docking approach, it will cancel out most of the lateral motion & drifting. In space, everything is in (curved) motion. Just gotta get on the same curve! :D I'm wildly impressed with the motion simulation of this game.

33:24 Looking it over (and rolling back time, and doing some math, and pondering). I think I get it. And oddly not all the numbers shows are of the same type. 32:11 you have not accepted the mission, you have 6577.61. Clicking take gig (32:20) did NOT cost you the 445.87 as I expected, so I started running the numbers so I could see exactly what it was doing, and when... 33:23, before you finish, looking on the left, the Payout: 664.90 - 2198.09? But no payout is that high, so what does that mean? More questions... Note the highest payout is 1752.21, but the cost to accept the mission was 445.87... And those two together add to 2198.09 (well, 2198.08, but penny rounding I'd bet) When you finish 33:25 (you are bumped up to 8329.82 in cash, showing you got paid 1752.21 precisely from the 6577.61 you started at, for the Platinum payout. So the 1752.21 is the NET payout, not the gross payout; and the remove the mission cost from the payout, not up front. The payout range above had added in the 445.88 that got taken out in the net payout (2198.09 - 445.88 = 1752.21). And the payouts now, looking over the list. Platinum - Gross: 2198.09 Net: 1752.21 (as we saw). Gold - Gross: 1321.98 Net: 876.11 Silver - Gross: 983.92 Net: 438.05 And I assume... Bronze - Gross: 664.90 Net: 219.03 And if you fail entirely (at end of time I suspect), you lose 445.87 (or 445.88 depending if the penny rounding cheats you again) Which tracks, each tier is roughly double the NET payout of the one before it So how to read this Variables in <> braces... Title: <TYPE> Duration: <Bronze> (<silver>, <gold>, <Platinum>) Payout: <Bronze GROSS payout> (<Silver NET Payout>, <Gold NET Payout>, <Platinum NET Payout>) Cost: <Cost taken from gross payouts, or penalty for failure> Why they mix and match GROSS and NET payouts? I don't know. But they sure as heck did. That's the only way those numbers make sense. And on the left in the summary and after you accept, they do keep it consistent... Cost: <Cost> Payout: <Bronze Gross> - <Platinum gross> (the range is for gross payouts, which makes sense to me) Very long story short; they cheated you out of a penny. Go demand it back.😁
