When you realize Ostranauts is an elaborate Sims mod. Thanks for the video.

So far your social interactions seem fairly similar to the ones I've had. I would add a couple things: - During the "free time" schedule, the character wants to pick their own activities, and will resist you telling them what to do. If you want them to do specific social activities (like talking to people and making friends), set them to "work" (same for getting them into bed to sleep (just switch it to "sleep" once they're asleep as you did)). - The "sleep" meter is really weird, and not intuitive. A person *can* survive without sleep for about three days. The meter currently represents the need for about three full days (72 hours) of sleep. So what you're seeing as a "small drop" in sleep need is only because when you started this episode, your character wanted about 36 hours (half full) of solid sleep to feel fully rested. Six hours of sleep, in sleep mode, will reduce the bar, but not by too much. If you go days without sleep, you do need to spend days asleep to recover that tiredness.

Hello! I also noticed that the bar doesn't go up, but for me it updates after they've woken up and gotten out of bed. I only let free time happen in the black market quarter so those relationships get boosted and additionally they can't go back to the ship. I've noticed a lag in commands being queued behind free time desires so I usually click to walk, then do an order because walking seems to take top priority.

The key to this game for me is immersion. When I don't understand how to do something I think about how to mirror what I would do in the real world - sleeping on the floor with all your work clothes and tools is not as comfortable as sleeping in pajamas - so my bedtime routine is as follows: I put my shoes in the pockets of my cargo pants, then I put them in the clothes bag inside the security suitcase and leave it next to my bed. PS: You can spend 2 days in a row working without sleeping. Many people do it, but the game penalizes you heavily for doing so. I think everything in the game is handled with multipliers and that's why you get to those high states.

Very important at the moment, sleep is broken, watch carefully if the triangle above the sleep bar is upwards or downwards. At some point it will stay upwards even if you are sleeping.

blacking out (non-bugged) has a value of 72, for sleeping 1 hour you loose 2 points. 0 would be perfect rested. So in your case with around 50% filled bar, you need 18 hours to bring it down to 0

I've found for social interaction the best place to go is the Estates. Confined location with lots of people and no TVs. Also turn off auto pause. And for the sleep, ya usually when he's that tired it takes 12 hours. Just make sure to pay the bills between the 2 Fast Forwards.

I forgot the bills.. 15hrs sleeping

07:05 you have almost no luck talking to people playing games, you see a progression bar below it, as long it´s moving they are occupied and ignore you. Try to talk to people walking around.

and use work time to talk to people if you have a specific target in mind like recruiting, otherwise your avatar will walk off to watch TV or play a game

Anyone that is doing 'maintenance' or an activity with a progress bar will ignore you until the 'task' is done. That can take awhile. If you intercept someone moving, they may be in 'work' mode. I've seen them stop and respond, walk away, walk back and respond, walk away etc as they try and complete tasks. I've also seen multiple non-players talking to each other (and me) and sometimes it takes awhile as they run through the queued responses to the others before they get back round to responding to me.

I make him undress, use the toilet, wash, eat, drink then lay down in his super comfy bed using work mode. Once asleep I change to sleep mode. He sleeps for many hours. Once he is fully rested if I do not need him, I give him a day off to socialize on his own. Either in the old town or commercial district. The old bar did lose a floor tile once. Killed everyone but my guy. The tech ignored the hole and I got bored rescuing people multiple times. When I patched the floor, they all died whilst I was busy

It's easier to fall asleep on Bunks, as opposed to Beds, and Medical Beds are even better. =) Also, if you let your toon's stats collapse, they get more and more erratic. Give them Spa Time, and deal with their needs as quickly as possible, and they'll stay in control.

For the sleep routine what i do (and work well) is to put him to sleep while is on work routine. Then when he is unconscious i change the routine to sleep and on average my character sleep 12-15 hours (he need to eat, drink, poop and clean before to go to sleep). At the end of it is very well rested and he can work 36 hrs after that. The auto sleep routine could be that because is insomniac he doesn't like to sleep. And take as free time or is a bug in the code (as programmer i think that when you swich/cicle the routines, seems to pickup the first onevas behavior, the first one is free time).

sleep is broken at the moment, you have to watch out

Your problem is you're not using a bed. Sleeping on bare floor gives almost no rest, sleeping on bedroll gives very little rest. For best sleep, you need bunkbed or medbed, AND sleep shift.
