Zone 6 here 😊. My daughter bought too many bulbs and we have not been able to get them all in the ground. It is now mid November in zone six. Should I plant the bulbs in containers, water them and leave them in my garage?
How do you get your Purple Prince to actually be purple though? Mine are the palest of purple, with white-ish violet tips. It is my first year growing them though. Could it be that the bulbs haven't had time to settle or naturalize, and that they will become more colourful as time passes?

I am doing the unconventional thing. I planted crocus, iris reticulata, small daffodils, snowdrops, and grape hyacinth in the lawn in a heart within a heart design. The larger heart will be the early bulbs. The later bulbs form the inner heart. It will fill in over the years, undoing that shape. That's alright. I just wanted to start out with a cute Valentine shape.

Also, I think I've got one of the purple shamrocks tubers planted upside down do this doesnt matter then? All the rest of the 13 tubers that I got in the mail they all had the plant starting to sprout out so it was easy to figure out which way to stick them in the dirt but there was one that had no distinct anything to let me know which way it was supposed to go down in besides a tiny bit of root hair at the one end so I put that down.
@bubbles97663 жыл бұрын
I just bought some with sprouts thinking they're roots. I'm guessing those are the plants since the roots are like hair. I am thinking of turning them around now
@RobloxGamer129413 жыл бұрын
@@bubbles9766 yeah you're probably right. That's probably what it was because they will kind of grow up and then curl back down until they properly stand up getting a tiny bit bigger like a day or two later. Mine ended up coming in full force, I just needed to have a little patience. I never had to turn them around. They're so beautiful now!

Can you help me with my iron cross oxalis bulbs? Do I plant the bulbs pointy side up or pointy side down? From what I can glimpse in a few photos, it goes pointy sides up but I want to be sure.

I have a question! So my partner and I moved into a house last August, and there are crocuses on the property -- but they seem to be seasonally confused. We had a few come up in the fall, but a couple also came up in early February. The blooms look exactly the same. Do you think the owners planted both fall and spring crocuses? Or can one species come up at different times. They seem to have made a lot of crocus babies which aren't large enough yet to flower, and I'd like to divide & propagate them but I'm worried I'll choose the wrong season to do it! Any advice?

Hi Pam and Wendy. I was just wondering, can the bulbs be replanted in the ground in autumn after they bloom in spring in the pots? Do you have an episode showing how this is done? Hope to hear from you.

I planted the oxalis deppei last summer... and they were so amazing and prolific! I planted 10 (bulbs..? risomes?) and I'm pretty sure I have 100 for next summer. Thanks for the great ideas for planting next summer. And your "Goldilocks" description for the indoor oxalis is a perfect description for watering them!

I planted allium serendipity this summer. It came in a two gallon pot looking like ornamental grass. It’s in a sunny spot. Not even one flower came up. What should I do? Did I plant too shallow or are the bulbs too crowded? I can’t think of anything else.

Do you ladies know if it's best to leave the Dutch iris bulbs in the ground as a perennial, I'm in zone 7a. Thanks!
@ScanMy2DBarcode2 жыл бұрын
I live in zone 7b that borders 7a. I have Dutch Iris and leave them in as a perennial and they are doing just great. We found a clump in our backyard after we moved in. We separated them into 8 plants 3 years ago. Time to do the same. Tomorrow I am digging them up to spread them out because they've filled in and are crowding each other. We have 4-5 times more Iris flowers now! (PS I know I'm replying to a 2yo comment! Don't care.)

Loved watching you in your element Elke. Our 3 year old loved watching you create. She said woah mommy she made her own little forest! 💜 I was able to teach her there are artists that create art with living flowers and we call them florists. So thank you for doing this in depth one showing everything used to create an arrangement. I need a friend like Elke. Your friends are truly blessed that receive arrangements from you!

I love the forest and its smells... My grandma's tiny village is up in the high Greek mountains, but I haven't been able to go there again since she was gone. I have the best (childhood) memories in that place... Thank you for bringing some of those back with this video ☺️ Phytoncides are volatile substances found in various plants, helping them to defend themselves against some viruses, insects and animals, not only in the forests, but the purest the environment, the more intense those subtle scents will be. Phytó(n), means plant in ancient and modern Greek, the suffix -cida comes from the Latin verb caedere (=kill, exterminate). Have a wonderful weekend, I hope spring has reached you, we're having our first heatwave, which is super rare this time, even for us!!
