I have a goat that I call my miracle goat x3. When she was born she died but we were able to revive her; unfortunately she scratched the lens of her eye so she has a cataract on one eye. Then she got blood poisoning, got it cleared, then pneumonia, got it cleared up, and lastly she got goat polio and the vet told me every time not to get too attached to her. Then she went blind from the polio and the vet said she wouldn’t get her site back. Lo and behold she got her site back. And her name is Baby

I had a tiny tot born a couple years ago. I actually set her to the side thinking she was dead😢 and then I saw her twitch. After feeding her with an eyedropper for a couple of days, I weighed her and she was 13.3 Oz! She is still thriving and Tiny today😊

my tiny goat was a triplet, two full size babies and peanut. when he was born he was the size of my hand, he fit there perfectly. I weighed him at just under 2 weeks and he was 14 oz. he successfully bred some does but babies were normal size. he was a local celebrity, everyone loved Peanut, including us. I didn't realize we had a potential world record.

Perhaps watch this video together 😜 Please Don't Get a Goat kzbin.info/www/bejne/roG4ZWBmbLuHo7M It is normal for most breeds of goats to have 1-2 babies at a time. Nigerian dwarf goats like mine can easily have four or more at a time, though one of my goats once had septuplets and her grandma had octuplets (not all of them lived)

We adopted a rescued pair of Muscovy ducks in 2014 to help with our snail problem (the snails are a vector for meningeal worm). I never was a fan of the breed, but when the rescuers led me to the truck and showed me Elvis & Coco . . . I was smitten. Coco, like most little Muscovy ladies, was a beautiful mother. If I tried to sneak eggs from her nest, she would go off and hide. Every summer, at least once, she would disappear for a week or so, then emerge with a line of 12-15 babies toddling behind her.

I was given 2 kids that were 3 weeks premie... Inky & blot... Unfortunately a friend thought she was helping & she tried to give milk by feeding tube. Blot became very unstable & I humanely gave him the last act of kindness. Inky survived & thrived!!! I used buffer nail files to help give her weak tendons some support on her front legs along with selenium...she was walking tall & strong after about 10 days😊 she grew into a loving family pet & also a good mama & milker... I still get letters from the lil girl who gave Inky a loving home for 15 yrs & we are both grateful that Inky, & i, didn't give up ❤

Hey Anne, I don't know how much you read comments, but I am wondering if you would consider doing a video on what it's like owning a miniature pig like Lucy. Maybe akin to you "Please Don't Get Miniature Donkeys" video? My younger sister really wants to raise pigs someday, but right now that's just not possible, so we thought to salve her piglessness, maybe we could get her just a pet pig. So much of the info online is about having an indoor pet pig, so it would be great to hear the perspective of someone who has a barnyard pet pig. Thanks for reading!

I know it's not in your language but I know that this channel has translation available...maybe just watch a few of Robert Marc Lehman's videos on pig's and get an idea of if you are really able to have one...if it's save to have one without endanger the populations near you in case of spreading diseases...which also includes insurances and much bigger responsibility...and maybe just reconsider the why? In the need of it...

My goats have been gone for 20 years. I had them for 10 years. I had a pygmy doe have 2 bucklings, one was normal size and one was the size of a small beany baby, he fit in the pocket of my coat. His teeth weren't through the gum, his head was round on top like a ball. He appeared to be a premie. He had a soft front leg we splinted. He lived in the house with his brother as their mom rejected them, it was winter in nw Missouri. I don't think he was a month old when I had to trim his hooves on the front to even him out for that leg we splinted. His name was taco. The taco bell commercial with the chihuahua was popular then. We caught him running around with some new credit cards in his mouth one day and thats when we said he's headed for the boarder with those credit cards. Lol. When he was 3 he looked like a normal pygmy goat. His head was Normal shaped and he was big like the other whethers. I miss them but I don't miss the work they were.

Sometimes, in the case of a stillborn, if you can maintain skin to skin contact (you and the goat in a baby sling tucked underneath your clothing) you can often save an underweight small preemie animal. My mom used to save rabbits and goats this same way. It has to be skin to bare skin though.

Don't listen to people that criticize you for how you care for your animals. I bet the best majority of them have no idea what it takes to raise livestock animals. They think because they have a cat or a dog that they're an expert. Most likely a cat or dog they bought or adopted, not one they bred. I bet any cat or dog breeder also wants to be there for every birth too for the exact same reason you do. That's such a stupid thing to say. Yes, they can do it on their own, but sometimes births have complications that can end up with the mother or the baby not surviving. That's kinda why we humans go to hospitals to have babies or have a trained professional come to our homes if doing a home birth. The humans that don't do one of those two things are usually the ones that dump a baby in dumpster or didn't know they were pregnant in the first place and leave a baby in a grocery store toilet. So, yeah... those are the people making those kinds of comments. Dumb people or awful people.
