One more thing, when you raise your own chicks like we do the overall cost goes down even further.

Well done. Everything he says is true. I started with cornish cross years ago and now I raise Leghorns for meat and eggs. I abandoned the cornish cross because when they're ready there's no waiting. With Leghorns I get more leeway on time to harvest them. To anyone that has never had a true farm raised bird and only store bought, the two are entirely different. A farm raised chicken is better than any chicken you've ever had in your lifetime. No joke.

Loved you video. We weren't concerned about registered so we got lucky that we found someone on a nearby farm that just wanted to reduce thier stock. Picked up three females... a month later discovered that one of them was loaded.😂 ended up with 10 more! Have really enjoyed having them. Found a boar ( bucky) a little later from a another farm. I like that they dont root but they are very much hoodini's because they escape when ever they can.

Unless actually going into business for profit, it would take some time to make a go of it.... Doing what you are doing is mainly for the love of it, gratification, and the quality meat.... your time and materials invested weren't even figured in... what is an hour of your labor worth? The needed materials for the chicken coops or sheds or trailers wasn't free either.... Right?

We just had the same problem with our Chickcoxy door. Unfortunately I noticed that the company now has a China address making me wonder if the original owners sold out. The other problem we have had with our door is that debris can get stuck in the track at the bottom of the door and prevent it from closing. It would be wise if the device would beep or have some kind of alarm if there was an error on the door closure. I had the same experience with no response. Also note that there does not seem to be any warranty for the door shown on the webpage.

All these people crying about killing and eating livestock. Are you aware that literally everything dies? Are you also aware that a nice peaceful, natural death in your sleep is the absolute most rare way to die naturally? Most often disease and cardiovascular issues is what kills you. If you've ever known someone to die from one of these issues, you know, without question, going in an instant, vs dying of heart issues or disease is a no brainer. So, whats the issue? Pigs, raised on better food than they'd ever find in the wild, completely protected from predators, and actual health care? To live around the same lifespan and instead of suffering before death, being killed in an instant? Is there something in the water or is it social media? People are literally getting dumber and dumber.

Take a spoon and tap the big end of the egg lightly over and over until you hear the sound change. Then boil them. Doing that breaks the membrane inside and they peel really nice!

Went to visit my wonderful mother in law down in Arkansas last weekend, and her neighbor showed us his Kunekune pigs and set up. He had them on a large tract of land with multiple pens to rotate them back and forth, and there was almost nothing but 'mowed' grass. He said you can't let the grass get too tall, or they won't eat it as well.
