Stan, it's always good to get an update from RC Homestead and to be able to see/hear what's happening with the garden and animals. Happy for you and proud of you for the reprioritizing that you've been doing since the career change. It reminds me of saying that I was told a few years back and it really helped me do the same...'sometimes you have to put the oxygen mask on yourself first'. Just like the flight attendant tells you before takeoff is true in our lives. We have to allow ourselves the space and time to breathe and take care of what's important and all of us who follow you and care about you will always support time without the camera rolling so that you can take care of yourself and your family. Faith, family, and friends...no one will argue with that my friend. Take care and get that garlic planted!

Thank you. That’s a pretty good saying to put stuff into perspective. From what I read many people recommend planting the garlic about 2 weeks before frost. Our frost date is mid October so it should definitely get in the ground soon.

Faith, family, friends. Amen. Looking forward to the garlic content. I have a 4x8 raised bed that we usually grow tomatoes in. The past two years it has not been worth the effort. So I have ordered garlic to plant this fall. My other raised bed was a huge success. First we grew cucumbers and canned dozens of pints of pickles. Then I planted radishes and they are really producing. But the real winner this year was green beans. 4 rows, 20 feet long, produced enough for us to can 96 quarts, and can 21 quarts for my in laws, and give away a few bushels! Next year I am only allowed to plant 2 rows. I may try corn next year. And maybe okra.

Wow that’s amazing! That’s a ton of beans. Gardening is such a roller coaster sometimes. This year was odd as what normally does well didn’t and what usually struggles flourished. Keep up the great work!

Garlic idea - nook and cranny plant....extras? - put them in corners of other beds, ie strawberry bed. Don't limit self to all of them together. ALSO, excellent job prioritizing life-work-hobby balance.

Just found your channel. I love the fake snake in the bed. Is it successful in keeping the rodents away? Yes to being in the moment and being present. I completely know what you mean about tasks taking 3 times longer when you video them. I regularly choose to get the job done rather than get a video made.

Welcome, we’re glad to have you. I suspect the snakes are helping. We had quite a number of young plants being pulled out and combination of the fake snake and sonic emitters seemed to stop the problem
