The only other mod bosses I've fought are IKG and the ones in Pale Court, and this is far harder than any of those, but definitely also quite fair. All of it's attacks are dodgeable without having to tank damage or anything. I've heard good stuff about some of the others, but generally people seem to think this one is the best.

Yeah, I think that you're right I tried it today and the only complaints from me is that sometimes the mix of the attacks can be almost unavoidable, not because it covers the whole screen, but rather because they are not entirely visible in that case, and also Radiance can fly too far away from the player, making impossible for him to hit her And maybe amount of hp is kinda too big

@@plagueis9794 That can feel kind of true for me in the platform phase, but I figure it's just because I haven't played it enough. I guess the only thing I don't like is how sometimes nails/fireballs can spawn under you if you're right on her, but that can be fixed by moving. Ultimately, it's a very very hard modded boss (not anyrad level for sure) but it does feel almost entirely fair.

Boss was originally a radiance version, I just used a skin to turn it into Pale King.

The Pale King thing is actually just part of the Tiny Radiance skin that I have on. I'm not a huge modded player, but, from what I've heard, this is actually the best Radiance mod (I can see that being the case), so that would make it better than any of the others.

@@211aonscratch4 Did you try Immortal Light? It's not as good as this one from what I've seen because goddamn the attacks on this boss is smooth, but Immortal Light is also pretty good and worth a shot.

For this, I was able to beat most of these bosses relatively fast, I think Ze'mer took like 5 hours or so since she's the hardest. I do have like 2000 hours on HK tho so I think that experience helped. Might've lost a few years lol.

I was salty at NKG, but I was salty at most bosses tbh, including Markoth. NKG is much worse for speedruns since you're counting on the fire pillars attack happening, preferably right after the opener (didn't get quite so lucky this time), but he can literally kill your whole run if he wants to. I've seen times where he goes like 20 seconds without doing the attack. But, objectively speaking, NKG is the best boss in the game, and Markoth is one of the worst.

What’s the reason people do that?

@@kuzureta7441 I've seen people who say screen shake hurts their eyes. It definitely looks smoother without it. Also, I find it improves performance by a very tiny bit, and you'd want any advantage possible going into speedruns.

I can only really play on weekends and I've been bouncing around between categories a little, but yes, it is quite hard to get back into the right flow and mentality after an extended break. I do have some ranking type videos, although they are mostly for radiant/all bindings players, but they should have helpful strategies in them. I was also planning to do a charm build guide at some point, haven't seriously started work on it though.

I'm trying to beat it rn, and my idea is that I'm going to try it with the HP going down at the level of each difficulty, since the amount of attack sets you have to survive essentially doubles each time due to the way the HP scrolling works. I actually experienced a bug when doing it with the HP scrolling of the lowest difficulty: after I died on the final part, he went back to his typical attack pattern, and then I just needed to survive another 4 attacks and he died. I wonder if that'll happen everytime that might make it easier. But I'll see how it goes!

It's high risk, high reward. If you can get to the lifeblood, it's very powerful.

It's a nice nod. In the mod lore, the Champion's Call is a test of the Pure Vessel's strength. I'm not actually quite sure what the lore references are to them meeting in the main game, idk if you happen to know?

Pretty much true. Radiant NKG gets a top 10 pick from me just because so many of the game's bosses are stuff like Massive Moss Charger and False Knight. But, if you can beat him, you already know how to dodge all his attacks, and Radiant isn't much of a step up.

Hey, that's fair. Everyone is bound to have differences in opinion. In fairness, my opinions are based more on a consistency thing than how hard these bosses were the first time around. For me, PV actually took a week to do Radiant the first time, even longer than absrad. It's just that nowadays I wouldn't be nearly as scared going up against him.

@@ruisousa7967 Vengefly King is actually not one of the easiest radiants in my opinion. Make sure you're using a lot of descending darks and don't run out of patience.
