Compering wages with the property prices in Australia in the last 30 years, the average wage should be around $2600 per week, but the stupid government telling working poor don’t ask your boss for pay rises, it could make the inflation worse, never mind my boss, your boss and every other bosses played big roles in inflating property prices through negative gearing and capital gains taxes , of course fake news media blaming Chinese investors which they did effect the housing to certain extent, but if look at the statistics , high percentage of them are Aussies with high income, lawyers, doctors, bankers, accountants,business men , politicians , politicians are the worse out of all due to corruption and insider trading.

I’m a 51 year old home grown Aussie male on a disability pension.. I have a brain tumour.. 9 weeks ago I was forced out of my home of 6 years by a new Asian landlord who thought she owned the complex… only to be replaced by a family of Nigerians… STOP THE IMMIGRATION

Paul Keating introduced negative gearing to placate voters because pensions were being taken away. Negative gearing has proved to be very unfair to young first home buyers. Negative gearing increaces property prices because investors are subsidised, and can afford to pay more for property. Negative gearing is not even neccessary as buying an investment property already provides investors with tax breaks. A lot more agitation is needed to get rid of this unfair scheme. Good on Bill Shorten for his attempts to get rid of negative gearing.

You can invest in an ETF or similar rather than another property. Diversification is a good thing.

A little simplistic. As a Gen X - I've been through 2 recessions and the GFC. You can be mindful and not just "get on with it". Buying RAM1500's and Porsche Cayenne's just to keep up with the Joneses is a recipe for disaster that the generations that have not yet experienced. I would guarantee a large percentage of business owners would not even comprehend what a cashflow forecast looks like. The ATO focus on small business instead of those at the top 1% is criminal.

The average woman (therefore couple) has less than 2 children, therefore our population should be decreasing and there should be more housing supply, as people are dieing and more houses are getting built, yet we’re in the worst housing shortage we have ever seen in our lives (will probably get worse) No one ever wanted this big Australia policy. It was never mentioned during election time in 2022, and look at the mess we’re now in.

I would like to see a discount for using cash in transactions , why should cash users be slugged merchant fees baked into prices. Banks make seigniorage on the creation of instant credit out of thin air, this is crazy. Not only are private banks collecting the seigniorage fee for the new creation of the currency in the form of credit, Private banks create inflation with this new credit creation destroying purchasing power and savings.

The fees bank charge on transactions has pushed me back into carrying cash. 0.5% on most transactions over a year adds up.

Australia's murder rate is low and Australia's murder rate is one of the lowest in the world at 1.5 per 100,000. The murder rate for women in Australia is even lower and is very low and is less than 1 per 100,000.
