62k per year after tax and inflation. As a single male it is more than ample. No debts and no kids. No bank of dad here. Retired at 57.

Well done . A very concise view and reflection on what is needed. In the end we may not have any pension entitlements in the future. There has to be a balance between spending whilst you are young enough to travel especially with health. As a man who has gone through two major separations which have cost me big money - I will still be relatively comfortable when I retire as a single person in a few years at the age of 60 or 61. I have known many a person have wealth without health and their kids are now buying sportscars and travelling the world with their retirement savings.... Live the life you love now. Balance and investing is key and always will be. I think the 1Mio mark is what you need to be honest.

From 13k to 19k that's the minimum range of profit return every week Many people don't realize that a strategy is simply a set of rules that an individual follows. It has absolutely nothing to do with the market whosoever. The key to success is finding a set of rules you can follow consistently.

100K super balance at 67 is plenty to retire on $30k (modest single) per year. Do the numbers. The age pension woud be $29k so you're barely touching your super which it why it lasts so long. Interest on super is tax free so you'd actually be earning more in super interest than you withdraw and your super balance would actually increase for the first 5 years). Also don't forget age pension payments increase with inflation as your living costs do. Nothing wrong with the AFSA standard, there's no lie here - not that I plan to live modestly or retire as late as 67 !!! 😀

I would like to point something out , for someone in their early to mid 40's there is no guarantee that there will be such a thing as an aged pension . It's like anything else in life , everything gets harder social security included...Government's in 25 years will have no money to fund people in retirement and aged pension will only be available for someone who rents and has nothing in their bank account .The rest of the population will have to be self funded in retirement. Not a crystal ball but the way governments are with money , 20-25 years from now is a long time to be forecasting pension payments from the govt ...I just think 75 to 80 % of Australia will be forced to become self funded retirees in a couple of decades .Nobody thought 10 years ago that GP's would go out of pocket in most places or housing prices would be where they are now . I wouldn't put any faith in the government paying me an aged pension in 25 years

Old Age Pension, if one qualifies; and will it be around in 2050? My guess is unlikely in it's current format.

Very informative, I foresaw what you are saying 15 years ago and was fortunate enough to get into property.(with my wife). 15 Years later at 61 I sold the properties and invested it in SMSF, now retired. Still a little nervy about do I have enough to live comfortably for the next 25 years.

Also a joke that they now make the account holders balance the portfolio and we still pay fees to do this. The only benefit is that you can choose Aus shares rather then the green markets and ETFS. But who knows where they actually place it

You are a mortgage broker and you are doing your job. If you maximise concessional salary sacrifice into super from early age of your life you will have millions in your super. One does not need to leverage too much to buy or speculate on property. It is the best tax structure for investment to grow where one pays no tax on income after retirement.

Your last sentence is currently correct; but how long will this state of affairs last? I am not worried for myself ( decade into retirement, great super, diverse investments ), but young people need good information and diverse investments for the future, including super.

I'm in the process of closing my Australian Super. It has a product that I thought could be good but turns out to be quite restrictive. Members Direct lets you sort of pick shares and ETFs (but only the ones deemed acceptable) for $200/yr. So if I want to invest in Tesla and bitcoin which I do, I can't thou AusSuper😢 not even the ETFs. SMSF costs $3k-5k per year once setup but I think will be well worth it in 5-10years. 120 TSLA and 500 vbtc would I think be a great base for a super balance now about $50k. Or is that too radical? Got to do something different get something different otherwise will just get what always got.

A cappuccino in Sydney (probably the most expensive place in Australia) is around $5. As for Cambodia, I lived in South East Asia for 10 years. Yes you can retire in Cambodia or Thailand if you can't afford to retire in Australia. The downside is the only company you'll keep is fellow loser expats who think the only way to have a good time is to drink 7 days a week and girls with identical personalities who will only go near you if you pay them. Enjoy the dream.

@michaelramage73 do you think ita a coincidence we have almost 3 million temporary immigrants, and rents are high?
@michaelramage73
@michaelramage73 Ай бұрын
@@morganoox3838 the property and rental supply is in part due to the large number of immigrants over a small amount of time. Temporary visa holders don’t generally get Medicare so I don’t see medical costs skyrocketing because of this. As for competing for jobs, they generally take the jobs Australians don’t want or don’t want where they’re located. The more people who pay tax, the more funding of services the government gets. Labor has wanted a big Australia for decades. This is how they do it. It also artificially boosts the GDP. If you put migration up 2%, GDP goes up 2% and they can pretend the economy is stronger than it truly is. But I still can’t see the link to ‘working until you die’ when compulsory superannuation has been in place since 1992.
@dopplerdog6817
@dopplerdog6817 4 күн бұрын
@@morganoox3838that would make sense if there was a fixed number of jobs and homes, neither of which is true. In 1900 the population was 3.7 million, almost 10% of today. They were adequately housed and employed. I guess that means that today 90% of us are homeless and unemployed due to excess people.
