They sporn upcreek so the eggs flow down river and fall between the tiny gaps to be safe while growing.which is why they try to escape in my opinion.

Thanks for the information 😀so far so good, I have kept the water level about 50mm from the top of the tank and I have not noticed them trying to go above the water line. I have the canister filter outlet about 40mm from edge of tank as well.

Hi @mattmulhearn668, this light is a sunsun ADE500c 24 watt, purchased from Ebay for about $50 Australian dollars. I also purchased some raisers so that the light sits a bit higher than what comes with the light. This is the same light that MD Fishtanks used to use in his earlier days. Grows plants very well but also algae if left on for too long or too close to the surface of the water :)

The algae growth is looking well. Maybe, aim the outlet more towards the center of the tank so that the water flow doesn't go against the glass.

For an jurassic park aquascape I think you shoud choose different fish. Some which look a little bit ancient... for example some bunecephalus verrucosus or similar fish, witz microctenopoma ansorgii for example and in a bigger tank I would take fundulopanchax soejestedti, and epiplatys ansorgii for this tank and fasciolatus for a bigger tank. But there are a lot of possibilities what will fit in a jurassic park tank.

Yes I hope not, I have heard that they can do this, I am thinking of making the filter outlet lower in the tank so there will be at least 2 1/2 inches of space from water level to top of tank. How far did they climb in your tank ? I am getting more nervous about this.

@@johnnydubbsaquascaping I’ve tried keeping them before. My setup didn’t have a strong enough filter or air pump flow at the time. Apparently they need a strong current to thrive, but you probably already know this. Good luck!

@@hcr32slider haha all good, I hope you can see the lights on some of the videos, I think you can see them on the 4 foot tank as well as I did a video about that, that is the fallen log tank :) For the price I cannot fault the A series 2 lights. I dont think I could ever use them on 100% unless they were raised about 30cm above tank.

Definitely an option, it was one of my first scapes so might be good to keep :) it has already began to go wild as the val and dwarf sag have begun growing into the front area. I am finding that the water is not perfectly clear and I am unsure as to why.
