Do you have an opinion of the new Jacuzzi True Water system?
@melissalambertson216 күн бұрын
Yay, first video I have found on this system! However, I need to replace the grommet that has failed, ugh 85 of them. How do I remove them ? Or , any other suggestions, like leave them and possibly seal over the grommet.

The information you shared in your video seems very credible as you seem to be too. I tried to align my choice based on your advice. However, I have difficulty identifying the brands and models of spas that offer the 5 elements that you indicate as priorities. Can you name exemples of brands and models that offer these features? What if the hot tub uses a motor that is designed for higher temperatures? Is that possible?
@ChrisWheatley12 күн бұрын
It is certainly possible but hot tub manufacturers use the lowest cost components they can find so I'd be shocked to see a class B motor in a hot tub

Didn’t work for my tub, looks like your tub isn’t cloudy at all compared to mine it just has foam. Mine has no foam but can’t see the tub shell at all through the water. Everything is balanced, no foam, just cloudy as hell. Can’t get it right…brand new tub also

@jodycwilliams21 күн бұрын
Hot Tubs break a good bit. Don't put spray foam in a hot tub cabinet. You will regret it the moment you have a leak, a dead jet or pump, or rats dig tunnels in there, and yes they still dig into spray foam.

What About Platinum spas? We are Shopping now for a newer spa, we currently have 8yr old dream maker.

@@TheSkipAd no. I am just loosening the connection a bit to let the air out of the line with a wide 4 inch pair of pliers. But the angle is tough and the connection is tight and the plastic connection is slowing wearing away.

@@InventorKnight It's a standard hot tub mistake. If you fill the spa the way I said, you won't (99%) get an airlock.

@@ChrisWheatley Thanks Chris, I love your info vids. I'm a former Physical Therapist that specialized in Hydrotherapy for burn victims and general recovery. I used to setup systems and train the staff in various hospitals. I manage a spa and swimspa store, I've been in the spabiz for about 15 years now. BTW, the info on the compression SQR jets was very helpful. I did a deep dive into the companies that use them. It really narrows the field and indicates the general quality level of the company. 👍👍

Sadly, plywood doesn't care for moisture and yet the motors are mounted on thin plywood (very thin plywood). It also doesn't appear the wood frame isn't treated and bracing isn't too terribly strong. I agree you don't need all of the bells and whistles which are on high end spas, but this spa needs a bit more engineering as to structure.
@ChrisWheatleyАй бұрын
You're right, plywood doesn't like moisture. However, in a well engineered and built hot tub like this one, that wood is there only for balance and to mount the skirt. With a self supporting shell, the frame takes no load whatsoever and with a well designed plumbing system the underside of the hot tub will never get wet. That's why you can pull apart almost any well built tub made 20+ years ago and the frame will look just like this one

Wood and moisture isn't a good combo

Just purchased a Bueno Hot Tub that is the "lower end" brand from Wellis that is recommended by HTU. I bought the Jersey style tub with the extended warranty all in for $5,200. The self-supporting shell, composite frame, single speed 3 HP pump, no proprietary parts are some of the reasons for the purchase. It does not have clamps on every jet nor compression fittings BUT I'm under the average cost of a hot tub by $11,000. If I use the tub three times per week for 7 years it averages out at $17 every time I take a dip when you include the cost of heat, chemicals, s $1,500 service call within the 7 years and remove three months yearly since I don't use my tub during the summer. I did have to pay "The Spa Guys" $900 to transport the tub to the back yard and connect it to an existing 220 line. Normally, you get what you pay for, I'll have to see............BTW, Spa Marvel is an excellent product! Also, Bueno Hot Tubs are available through different distributorships, it's best to purchase it directly from Bueno Hot Tubs to get the best customer and service support.
@chriswheatley7720Ай бұрын
Bueno broke the mold it was the first major player to launch a direct to consumer brand. they targeted the lower end ($4-$7k) and the build was better then anything else in this price point but as you mentioned, a lower end insulation system, no clamps on the plumbing and a cradle supported shell. it was also curb side dropped and not much support and service. it wasn't long till jacuzzi and master started eyeballing this and Instinct is a line from one of these two giants. but they didn't target the lower end they went after the $10-$13k end of the market and the build is a lot higher. also its delivered and installed and dealer supported! Bueno is good in the sub 7 k market and instinct is tops in the $8-$13k market.

The hot tub industry is an absolute quagmire of low quality trash. The dealers aren't much better. OEM however stands for 'Original Equipment Manufacturer' so when you speak of proprietary jets/valves/components, they are, in fact, OEM. Still, great video and the information is solid.
@josephgraham1065Ай бұрын
I consider Sundance and Jacuzzi a quality hot tub manufacturer but they no longer do the full foam insulation they have like blown in insulation and then have foil wrap to project it back at the shell.
@mr.c8033Ай бұрын
Absolutely outstanding. Even if you know little about the making (and trappings) of a hot tub, this info just makes sense. And ultimately will add up to saved dollars and less headaches and regret. Thanks Bill. Looking forward to your Instinct Spa follow-up.

The use of wood in hot tubs still seems primitive to me, even though most still do it. And that twisted mess of hoses and manifolds. Uggg. There needs to be more innovation. Boats, RV’s, Hot Tubs, etc. are boom and bust industries. I think we are at the start of another bust. There was a lot of junk cranked out during the pandemic boom, and those guilty of it will pay the price. If tarifs are implemented there are going to be lots of casualties in the US and Canada.

Guy whacks jets into tub with mallet "this is the future and is way better than precise torque setting". Way too much reliance on human labor. Guy is hand spraying the ester resin on overhead and blind with no tool balancer, this will result in non-uniform application. Foam spray guy eyeballs foam expansion. Wood frame with cheap tolerances and trusses. They use hand-push dolleys instead of conveyence systems. Obviously hand-applied messy plumbing glue and no clamps on smaller lines. No automated quality. Didn't show drilling but probably a guy with a drill. Dirty plant with no LEAN, visual management, 5S. Typical markings of rust-belt manufacturing. Compare this to videos of the new Wellis manufactury. I was honestly sold by HTU's recommendations of Master Spa until watching this video.
