Heya! Stellar artwork and cool design! Especially the sword. She seems like an interesting character and I’m keen to see more of her world! Hope the world project is goin’ well :) Fun fact for the day: While the rapier is considered a slender, light weapon in modern pop culture (and it is elegant); the ones with swept, fancy handle were weighted a bit more like a metal boxing glove, with a steel stick on the end you gotta keep pointed just right. Required some precise strength to use for long. Comparatively, longswords and other two-handed blades (within reason, no greatswords) felt lighter to wield, coz’ you had the power of two hands to handle em’. That all said, the pop culture idea of rapiers being lighter for more slender, dexterous characters, is a cool one. So it ain’t goin’ anytime soon. Rule of cool, it just fits! And it also fits a noble, princessy character just right too. Excellent design. Can’t wait to see her in action o7

Think the best way to make Omnipotent Characters is to not make them humanoid and rather make them as if their whole presence is distorting reality and the environment around them

It makes me so excited to see someone finally talking about lichens in the context of fantasy! I've loved lichens for as long as I can remember and I've never seen them utilised like this. Although being a bit of a lichen nerd I can't help but point out that lichens generally don't flower and instead reproduce with fruiting bodies that release spores, if the spore then finds an algal cell its then able to develop a new lichen. Sometimes these fruiting bodies look super otherworldly so they're definitely worth experimenting with in fantasy art. Still a brilliant video though :D

The only true omnipotent being is the Christian God who exists in three persons in the holy trinity who is the father which is God himself and the son who is Jesus Christ who is God himself in human flesh and the Holy Spirit who is the spirit of God himself therefore the true omnipotent Christian God himself is 3 in 1 in the holy trinity according to the king James holy bible

Personally I like to see our world if we gained the law mana I think of it as everyone will gain the ability mana veins in there body animal's will too there very similar to blood veins and everything has a core in there body like a human heart for blood but for mana it's like a sphere and will be colored based on the element When it comes to magic i have always thought of it as limitless based in understanding everyone kinda. Knows that fire burns and eats oxygen as fuel or part of its fuel so everyone has 100% of all elements and 1000% of one element witch be fire water wind earth light dark lightning void divine and Mana would be seen as some special ability like blood manipulation for example or ice or some ability that has rules of it's own.

I've always liked a magic system where you have have to improve yourself in order to safely use it. Not "Get better at magic" but improve who YOU are by resolving dissonance between what you believe and what is true. Magic that needs YOU to be a better more grounded/enlightened person to use it to a positive effect. It's a sub division of "Magic is controlled by emotion/will" that has always fascinated me.

Rimworld has an amazing magic system. Extremely advanced AI called archotechs become so powerful they essentialy become machine gods, capable of manipulating the very laws of the universe. Some humans can use archotech devices to form a psylink where they can call upon the abilities of these archotechs to their advantage. Maybe a benevolent archotech will teleport some water to extinguish fire, wheras an angry archotech that wants to eliminate humanity will be happy to manipulate the minds of your enemies and drive them berserk.

Every hero is a villain to someone, and every villain is a hero to someone. It's just a matter of perspective. What's the difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist? Just the side you're on, because History is always written by the winners.

Whether Blue is better than Red depends on the circumstances and usage. I would say the same for Hard vs Soft Magic, different stories and settings have different needs.

That word you keep using doesn't really mean what you think it means. Omnipotent means "all-powerful", as in being able to do anything... literally anything. What you're mistaking it with is being merely overpowered in the context of the story. I can't think of a single story outside the Bible in witch a character is omnipotent in the literal sense, and let's face it neither can you. This whole video is clickbait BS.

This is not only for the creator of this fantastic video <3, but for any person that likes fantasy and good story telling. I've seen it mentioned once or twice in the comments already. But they just mention it lightly. Mistborn is great regarding the magic system aspect of the topic. But I would really, really recommend The Stormlight Archive as a greater example of one of the best world building there is. In the video when you get to the key points it's amazing how stormlight archive gets a 10/10 in all of them. In regards that the answers to those key questions are vast and feel amazingly solid and concise at the same time. It is like almost nothing I've ever seen or read, the way the characters, the world, and the magic, interact with each other throughout the series is truly a masterclass in hard fantasy writing. I used to watch and read all these amazing stories in the past such as, harry potter, LOTR, star wars etc... and of course I would love them very much, but I always felt like they could have been so much more, so many questions came to me so many times and by the end of any of them, most were left unanswered. [Examples: what are the physics explanations for harry potter's magic, how does every society within LOTR actually work in regards to how do they live their day to day lives (for example how did the elves live? how did the dwarves lived in comparison, how did the humans handled this world of magic and other races?), or even in star wars I'd have both of these questions(how does the force as a system actually work? where are the limits, etc. or how did the empire, for example, managed to rule each and every planet since each and every planet had different atmospheres, temperatures, terrains, cultures, languages. or how did all of that ruling and conquering even started? in regards to star wars there's actually many more questions than the rest). ] And of course I understood none of these questions were the focus of those stories, but I always wondered how would a complete and polished world with a system of physics different than that of our reality would be? And that is the stormlight archive, it really feels just like a parallel world to ours but with a complete different history and a different physics theory. Apart from that, the characters, story, plot arcs, and developments are truly engaging and masterfully done. I may be talking out of my ass right here but I'm not the only one who truly belives Brandon Sanderson is making history with his books and someday will get the recognition authors such as Tolkien have forged for themselves. I know this is way too long, sorry for that.

In addition to Soft/Hard (and No, because Fantasy doesn't always mean magic) Magic, I also grade things on Low/High/Sci Fantasy. The Fantasy grade, as you can guess by the inclusion of a Sci(fi) level, I base this on the level of technology a world has, in addition to its magic. LotR is a Low Fantasy/Soft Magic. Harry Potter is Low Fantasy/Soft Magic, while FMA would be the Hard Magic counter part to this. Destiny's Crucible is the reason I include "No Magic" fantasy and also one of the reasons I include Science. This one comes in at Sci Fantasy/No Magic. It's also the only good Western "Isekai" (t/l "another world"), as they're no longer in Kansas, so to speak. In this, someone with modern knowledge is transplanted on to an alien world with the equivalent technology of the 15th-16th century. His knowledge base is limited though, so do not expect anything like the tropes you see in the "nation builder" anime. He's a chemist and not even one of the best. The last one is Dungeon Crawler Carl. Sci Fantasy/Hard(ish) Magic. There's a lot of scifi in this series, but it blends it with the magic *_system_* really well, with the lines sometimes being crossed. It was the other reason I had to start using the SciFantasy label a little more than I would have to 10 years ago. This was originally part of that first comment, but it got long in the tooth.

Madoka Magia has been my favourite implementation of a Deal with the Devil magic system. Except, in Madoka, the "Devil", ultimately, doesn't care if _you_ take the deal, because the next person will. It's rarer still, in that Kyubei doesn't recind the offer, despite it being put aside or initially rejected. This allows Madoka to see what kind of Faustian Bargin she would be making and the consequences that it brings. Another magic system I really enjoyed was from, probably, my favourite anime, Witch Hunter Robin. It drew heavily from old European and early North American witch folklore and the characters powers and abilities were based on the archetype of witch they were. There were the classics, such as fire, water, air and earth; electricity, ice, gravity, vision, memory, birds, bugs, dolls. Unlike Avatar though, the types are organized more like a mix of astrology and Roman gods, but doesn't delve deep enough to fall under "hard magic".

Magic that no one would want to use. That's what I'd like to see. A true curse instead of a blessed curse. The price must be high, the profit close to zero. Parasites that devour your body. Probably something tied to the cycle of rebirth that magic destroys. Availability of safer ways to use magic. For example, the hero uses something unconventional, which eventually leads to the impossibility of using magic at all and to the destruction of the hero's soul.

There's a magic system that's always been on my mind, the one of Mahouka Koko No Rettosei or translated; The Irregular at Magic High School. the magic system there its just- Fascinating to me, the way it- Just makes sense, every single spell has a fundation on actual physics and interactions you can understand. How it sets its limits on understandable rules such as physics, chemestry and how it kind of redefines the concept of magic to fit the setting, "mana" its not just some mysterious energy that its everywhere, its explained and even delved on, throwing the normal concept of "mana" and even deleting the name completely (Psions and Pushions), but still retaining the escence of the word even if separated into two. The way that magic connects with the world, politics, war, evolution of it and the sheer deepth of it all. Love that magic system honestly.

I think your own project is very good, but as you said the character designs are slightly lacking, I believe this is due to wanting realistic proportions with not so realistic faces, I think it might be good to do away with the realistic proportions and exaggerate a bit, it might be helpful to look at similar successful styles (not that you don't know this because you probably do), but I think Osama King's Ranking and Friren has an artstyle similar to yours but different in meaningful ways it might be good to take from them
