Thanks for the helpful vid! However I did not see a sound check where the mixer could set his levels for the shouter and the whisperer. How can you know who will be loud and who will be soft without a check?

We talk about that at 5:13, you do your mic check during the rehearsal phase.

Wondering why Deity's pole doesn't have an internal cable if you prefer that. Only reason I haven't picked up the Deity pole.

Great question, at the time hard wire boom and XLR transmitters were way more mainstream. 5 years later and we have things like the THEOS DLTX and the S-Mic 3S (the world's lightest XLR shotgun) to form an ultra-lightweight wireless boom setup.

I'm running OBS 30.2.3 (Jan 2025) and when I went to use these plugins, OBS crashed upon start up. On initial install with OBS open, the plugin works fine, when I closed the program and restarted, OBS crashed. I used the OBS crash logs to surmise these plugins were an issue for me bwcause when I removed them, OBS worked fine. Since the plugins are fairly dated, I'm not surprised there was an issue with OBS

Tks for sharring! How can I use (timecode) with Tascam Portacapture x8 ? It is possible? I have Deity V-Mic D4 Min on camera and I want to use on the imput ( ot D4 mini) TC-1 to send the timecode on one chanel and the sound (from V-Mic D4 Mini) on the other channel and I want the sound from my Portacapture X8 to be timecoded to. Do you have any solution ? (sorry for my poor english).

I have a question. RE: LTC timecode for mirrorless cameras . Lets say I have two tc1's and one pr2 then sync all Tc devices. I then put pr2 on the talent and have one camera (ltc input with one tc1 ) set up and recording. Can I turn on and set up a second camera "mid shoot" add the second previously synced TC 1 to that camera via LTC and have that 2nd camera be in sync for the rest of the shoot?

Because you're using time code, it's expected that you have an external device that is recording audio that you want it to be synced to without directly connecting the external device to the camera.

Timecode newbie here… So, how do I record Audio, when the 3,5mm jack is taken?
@ayoubthegreat20 күн бұрын
You use timecode to sync multiple devices. So it'd expected that you have an external recorder that also can be synced so in post production they will both be synced using timecode though those two devices are not directly connected.
@tomwylder20 күн бұрын
@ Yes, I understand that. I'm a documentary filmmaker, and I still need to record additional audio with the on-camera microphone-for atmosphere, or when spontaneous situations arise, and people speak without being mic'd beforehand. Using timecode for this isn't possible then….?

@DeityMicrophone this is on another topic. I've tried to contact support but they can't seem to answer the question. I have the Deity PR-2 which I love by the way! But, I noticed that I have to periodically set the date/ time on the recorder again. All I wanted to know is if there is an internal rechargeable battery inside the recorder. If so, then I know that I have to periodically place it on a charger. Can you guys please advise me??

So in 2024 just all the PCV is going run you around $250. On the other hand it's about $50 in lumber if you by cheap wood in long lengths and cut it down to length your self. Also all the blankets with rings and such are more expensive. If you use wood you can just staple it to the wood. Assuming you don't need to move it you could make something really cheap. I think that is what I am going to do.

@@DeityMicrophones I did watch it, but to give you an example, my Sony a7s3s don’t appear magically like they do on the video you shared. Let me rephrase my request….how about an in-depth Sync software video into Resolve video. Longer than 53 seconds, please! I know my request may seem annoying, but the more you show how to use your products, the more people will buy your products, especially when timecode has not been mastered by the masses or the NLE-making companies.
@mikethecreative26 күн бұрын
@@birdsofray With the Sony A7S3, you'll have to use the Audio port for recording Timecode. Unfortunately, it does not support native Timecode like the Sony FX3. After importing your video into Davinci, right click on the videos and click "Update Timecode from Audio Track." Now the A7S3 video will have the correct timecode like what's shown in that above video. Hope this helps :)

@ Thanks for the info, Michael. I already tried that and now the S3 supports timecode through the micro USB port. It needs a special cable from Tentacle. Look it up and thanks again for trying to help me! 🙏🙏🙏

What are the other generators being used for? The main use of timecode is to sync multiple devices. If you only have the one camera and no mixer or other camera - it's redundant.

That clip-on mic you used is not at all the right sort for a sax - you need a clip with a gooseneck so the mic element is up 5-6 inches above the bell - and then you can play with angling it down into the bell or aim it between the bell and the keys
