I didn’t salvage the small piece that the shock mount bolt goes into. I moved the shocks to behind the front axle and the hoops back a little.

@midliferc11653 жыл бұрын
Are you using the stock plastic ones? My stock one lasted 5 min on my first “ stock “ test run .. ended up getting metal ones that I think have more length in them. I have not had them pop out myself
@1982pantro3 жыл бұрын
@@midliferc1165 yeah,ibhave stock ones,they are pretty tough no problems with them,its just that after installed the shackles the back one pops out every now and then. The problem is that they arw short. I ended up buying the punisher ones.

I put a short link to the other side for the steering. I have a ton of articulation compared to this. I used a slash front camber link. It was nearly perfect length.

This was a great super thorough video. We need more videos like this. I did the motor clock so that the servo sits on the opposite side so the steering links run parallel and I could flop the pumpkin to the other side so its the exact same as a real HiLux. This motor drop idea is AMAZING ... something I kept staring at but couldn't comprehend because I have all different motor and tranny mounts so it all looks different but you have now shown me the light! I also overdrove the front axle slightly and under driver the rear axle to stop the back fights and front flips on the downhill. Greatest mod I have ever done but it's not an easy mod by any means. Thanks again for sharing your great work and video. Sub'd.
@midliferc11655 жыл бұрын
Jair Janes , your too kind! Thank you.. the servo flip is something I’m going to look at! Thanks! I do get a tiny bit of bump from the motor under full suspension compression but the benefits of the low weight over a tiny bump are huge, I have run side by side with those that have the stock motor setup and they could not believe the difference! Thanks again!! Hope to do more videos soon!

@midliferc11655 жыл бұрын
jimmy ravello , hi Jimmy... ya kno... I’m not sure, I think the links might get in the way... I do have a d90 chassis, if I recall the “ clock” part will be almost the same. Just not sure about the clearance ... the d90 is almost an exact clone in ways of the TF2. Give it a shot, but don’t cut till your sure. Thanks for watching

I like sloppy and lots of body roll so I removed the smallest spring on the front and the 2 smallest on the rear. Also, I pulled the foams out of the tires. I’m working on putting adjustable King shocks all around, it’s a challenge, but I’m doing it anyways. Your idea is pretty cool too. I can see me getting the same type of results doing it your way but it’s too late, I’m almost finished. ;). I’m Mid Life, so I subbed, Smashed the like, and rang the bell. Cheers!

Cool, man! I sort of regret buying the HPI Venture FJ, and wish I'd just gotten the Bronco RTR, so I'd be able to enjoy getting familiar with the stock layout. The Venture FJ is kind of "no-frills", whereas the TRX-4 has useful, new tech. I do have that TRX-4 Bronco pre-roller chassis, which I got off eBay, though, and it is really nice. I'm going to mount my RTR Axial Jeep Cherokee body on it, because it fits really well, and now I'll have to spend time figuring out what radio I should use, and what shift servos. If it's any consolation, I have to drive at least an hour or longer to get to any crawl-worthy spots. The only trails near my home are what I call "park" trails, which are well-trodden paths, with no rocky terrain. I have to head out of town and into the mountains, to get to the technical trails, which is why I generally only get to do that a few times a year.
