The shooter shackles and z boxes are a solution but they create their own problems, they let the wheel flop around and unleash crazy axle wrap. That alone combined with a single leaf set up and you are doomed to pretzel leafs in 1 run. That set up also unloads the suspension on side hills making the truck even tippier, it also unloads while traversing steep trails making you flip forward or backwards So while it does help with flex it comes at a price… a high price.
@midliferc11658 жыл бұрын
Yes... Still learning the ins and outs of them. Example... I'm not a fan of how loose the front end is with them... Or the " lean" I get. I found by playing with the bolts that hold them together, you can adjust... Again.. Still learning

the stock leafs work great once broken in, out of the box they are pretty stiff so everyone automatically assumes they wont work. put the two shorter leafs on top of the long leaf and drive the truck, that will break in the longer leaf. then put the shorter ones back under the long leaf and continue driving. after a while you will have a good working suspension with plenty of articulation once all the leafs are broken in. also to solve the rubbing, put the shackles in the rear of the front axle just like they are on the 1:1
@midliferc11657 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks.. I never purchased the other leafs... I did something similar to what you mentioned and they are just fine

I like sloppy and lots of body roll so I removed the smallest spring on the front and the 2 smallest on the rear. Also, I pulled the foams out of the tires. I’m working on putting adjustable King shocks all around, it’s a challenge, but I’m doing it anyways. Your idea is pretty cool too. I can see me getting the same type of results doing it your way but it’s too late, I’m almost finished. ;). I’m Mid Life, so I subbed, Smashed the like, and rang the bell. Cheers!

In a 1:1 I believe you want that front shackle fixed to the frame. Your pivoting shackle should be towards the rear of the spring pack for the front. Thx for the vid never paid attention to that!

Shackle reversal in front. The shooter is on backwards and best in rear.

if you run it the way he is saying the shackle will go forawrd so the way you have it its not gonna hit!

Wonder why they advertise the z boxes saying they don't work on the front of the tf2
@midliferc11658 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, it's not that they DIDDNT work... Cause boy do they, but it's more they make the truck ride funny... Leans left.... Dunno why, I tried balancing the weight... But nope... So i just snugged them up... Easy to loosen if I want more flex
