thanks for the locking washer idea when locking the cable into place, also for the cotter pin mention

Absolutely brilliant; I followed you to the letter and out it came. The only reason for my taking out the screen was to add two chrome attachments which were absent and needed for fixing a full tonneau. Back in this afternoon with the existing seals, which I will prepare with black silicone before fitting and mask the paintwork against any sealant overflow. Thank you John Coveney Dordogne, France

I get to dive into this misery on my '80 MGB. Stared at it tonight and figured I'd sleep on it and hope for divine intervention in the morning.

Hi, great and clear instructions. Does the gearbox oil need to be drained or can this job be done with the oil intact? Have just replaced the oil which is a pain to do!

That was excellent. No long winded television style intro with music and logos, no bad attempts at being the “funny host” with all kinds of banter with buddies, nor story-like intro to the fix…AND you demystified a fix that I have heard many suggest was exceedingly difficult…you’re knowledgeable and you made the approach practical, straightforward, an quite do-able with common sense explanations and arrows highlighting hard to see bolts, etc. Simply one of the best fix-it-up videos I have seen in a long time. Thank you. Subscribed!

Where can I find how to put all the wires onto the Positive Starter solenoid post, the two spades working and nuts while working underneath the car; explaining the nut differences and where any lock nuts or washers get put?

Good video. If you want a suggestion for another one it would be helpful for me to see the windshield side rubber done. It looks a bit tricky with buried screws, pop rivets, aluminum strips, channels etc. Thx & great to see your vids!

So you just snip the indicator wires? Not disconnected? Just wondering if I have to buy even more kit to reconnect them when I put them back 🤷♂️
@braydenparady9238 Жыл бұрын
Mine were already short and difficult to work with so I ended up buying more wire to solder on and make longer. You may have to do this if yours was as rigged as mine. Disconnect if you can

You are the fucking man. Thank you for this. Attempting it now. Update: Removing the box this way is exactly how it's done. Took me about 20 minutes to pull it out from up top. Once the pedal springs are loose then the pedals are moveable.

This is the wonderful thing about older machines. They are almost always repairable or rebuildable. New parts are sealed, fragile and throwaway. I enjoy working on my 1966 MGB.

I just went through this ,and I found that I could get to the bottom bolts of the booster from the hole that the pedals go through from inside the footwell. I only had to take the cover off, remove the brake pedal pivot and pin, remove the clutch pin, and the master cylinder nuts and brake line holders.

Those are not "screws" they are Dzus fasteners. "connect your terminals "as you wish", how about connecting them correctly. Did you consider cleaning the battery, the box area and the battery bin itself before putting the battery back? Also making holes or hinged openings for the cables to prevent a potential catastrophic, explosion.

Wouldnt it be easier to drain and disconnect the brake master cylinder and take servo and master cylinder out together. Undo 2 lower bolts from pedal box hole and 2 from above then remove pin?

Nice video, I would recommend that you provide better lighting for the work area and improve your audio quality. Also you might want to elaborate on the type of tools required as well as reference to service procedures as found in the manual. Keep up the good work.
