Weird question but at 7:23 which side of the duct tape did you use? I noticed in part 2 when you sewed the sides and flipped them inside out. Would you mind explaining a bit what you did? (Still learning a bit XP)

I use both sides. Since the markings are symmetrical I tape HALF the head, then use the pattern and flip it to create both halves. IF this sounds daunting or confusing to you, you may choose to take the whole head to ensure all of the markings are where you want them

Lucky The Dragon it is a Singer 20U industrial machine. Brand new, they are quite expensive, but I found mine on kijiji for like half the price. Runs like a dream.

idk if I'll get answered, because I'm just in a comment section but, what kind of white foam do you use? Also, what kind of tool is that? The one for shaving off the extra foam?

Face is Smooth-on Flex Foam-it III, back of the head is just regular ole upholstery foam from walmart (I but it in big rolls and cut off 1" strips for working, and the ears are EVA craft sheet foam. I use a retractable olfa boxcutter for cutting/carving foam.

I live in Canada, so we don't have Johann's up here. Most fabric stores do carry a supply of upholstery foams though! You can also try online, I've never used them, but this store is often recommended: www.bobsfoam.com/

white wolf 366 hello. Asking an artist to go WAY lower than her/his asking price is very disrespectful to the maker. Fursuit heads for good quality ones are going to be 800+. Small tails are 40-50$ depending how small it is. Fursuit making is a professional job and people do it to create something beautiful but let's not forget they need money to live. I'm going to stop before i get to into it, but I just can't stand ignorant people....

Lots of people do not make bases from scratch anymore. They sculpt and make molds, then cast those molds in expanding foam. It gives a premade base that can carved out and turned into a head, then modded for shape as needed, instead of having to carve one from scratch every time you make a head.

what are u using to shave the foam? All of my utensils and too dull.

An Olfa retractable boxcutter blade. They go dull REALLY fast. Either sharpen yours often or buy a pack of replacement blades to switch out. Switch them out the moment the don't cut as good - you shouldn't have to struggle when cutting foam or fur.
