My dad missed my graduation because of a brain tumor. When he realized he had missed it, he was so upset and felt so guilty. (I never made him feel that way. I know he had no control over it.) I think what the guy was feeling was not really a crush. I think his marriage needed work and the grass on the other side of the fence started looking really good. She said he was working late and coming to their house for drinks, that was not helping his marriage. I’m not going to bash anyone in this story. The only person who seems to be acting completely irrationally is Ellin, who just chose never to seek reconciliation at all costs even though nothing happened.
