I just started using the Townhouse today! It sounds awesome ! Full tone and glued! I was using the UAD Manley Var Mu , but I felt it colored the sound and felt thinner compared to the Townhouse!

Oxford sounds most natural and super flexible

are there no phase issues with parallel processing compressors + EQ? I would think that the EQ would be shifting phase and causing problems at different frequency areas

Sounds perfect. Can't wait for it to be available native.

The added analog noise actually sounds good on the Masterbus...it gives the mix some pleasent air....sounds like a tiny bit of 10k perfect for mix mub.....that actually makes the comp sound more Gluy

Do you have the sends to the compressors as Post Fader or Post Pan? Are the compressors supposed to be a particular settings default? Thanks

Definitely a little over processed? Sounded better to my ears with only one of the EQs engaged. Just the bus one, or the kick in one should do it. Depending on the rest of the mix, of course..

This is cool, but I wish you did this on a track with drums. Still! Appreciate you.

Hi, great tutorial. I am wondering why you would boost say 3db and cut 2db instead of just boosting 1db only?

Great job. Learned so much. Your teaching style puts one at ease from the very beginning. You get the feeling that you truly want to help folks learn about mixing. Thank you for that :)

Can I just say, I watched a few reviews and "hands on" videos and your video made me want to purchase the API 2500 plug-in. Keep up the good work man!!! You just got another subscriber!

I love these comparison videos. Since none of them sound like they have any makeup gain, they are all making the sound louder when you turn them on. In the end, it sounded like the ther Slate Digital FG Grey was adding the lease amount of volume. They all sound pretty much the same, so I would personally just pick the cheapest one & go with it. I'm already happy with my compressors, but if anyone is trying to decide from this video, just get the cheapest one... or the one whose interface intrigues you the most. I love a good interface. 😎

This man did not just set a compressor without gain staging the compressor to a level matched volume.... there's no way. THIS IS WHY YOU DEMO PLUG-INS YOURSELVES PEOPLE AND LEARN HOW TO NOT TRICK PERCEPTION with non-level matched comparisons. Anyways, good bye.

Thanks for the video! 👏 Just FYI, I think you're reading the controls incorrectly. Bandwidth is only related to HF, not LF, and the attenuator on the right is related to "atten sel" switch on the right which is a high shelf, so you're not boosting and cutting 8 kHz as you say.

I've tried multiple times to drag the Pultecs onto a session but always directly to an instrument track and never was happy with them.. Thankyou for the tutorial !! I finally dropped them onto a buss and wow that's where they shine :) Really can do subtle magic with them in mastering as well..
