When practising this Version of SSK I used a 2mm crochet hook instead of my right needle and only after a few practise stitches I changed back . Saved me some frustration.

If I finish a row with 2 purl, do I start the next one with purl? Can you please say how to decide if to start with Purl or knit after each row.
@nimbleneedlestwo
@nimbleneedlestwo 3 күн бұрын
I did say that. You need to knit all stitches the way they appear. So if you finish with 2 purls you start with two knit stitches as these two purl stitches will apepar like knit stitches on the wrong side.

@@nimbleneedlestwo Thank you for confirming. So the side facing me is the wrong side (needle arrow pointing to the right)? so what do u call the other side facing away from me?
@nimbleneedlestwo

@@2024-b7x 2x2 ribbing is reversible...so it doesn't really have a wrong side. However you are free to define one side as the wrong side and the other as the right side. this would only matter if you add increases/decreases etc where suddenly things stop to be reversible.

For some reason, I always thought you had to thread the yarn through that last stitch on the needle then cut off the yarn. Now I know why my edge always sticks out slightly. Thank you Norman.

I’m in the process of making a triangle shape shawl. I have color changing. I’m here to maybe find a cleaner way of doing this. Right now I’m looping the new yarn around needle (on wrong side) then tying off old color. Now I have all these bows going down the side of the shawl. Love to see something new. ( I don’t know if I made that clear. I’m so new to knitting. lol)

Hi Norman, thank you so much for your videos, which are concise, clear and to the point! I am knitting a baby blanket for my grandchild (due in December) it’s grey with white fluffy sheep and was struggling in finding as ‘good’ way to join the fluffy wool so as not to leave holes, and your method worked! I have noticed that I sometimes have a little ‘hole’ at the end of some of my sheep, where the white fluffy wool joins the grey. If you have a suggestion for this please let me know, thank you! hm...you'd probably have to carry to yarn over on the backside for a couple of more stitches, and then tighten up when weaving in.

This looks brilliant,but I don’t knit the international way but the English way, so until I try it I don’t know if it will work. I hold my yarns in my right hand. I love the way you knit but at 74 I’m not sure I’d be able to change my way of knitting. Thank you.- Marna 10:51
