How to fix mistakes in brioche knitting

Fixing mistakes in brioche knitting is actually fairly simple once you understand how the fabric is created. You can basically "ladder up" with a crochet hook - but you always need to pull the stitch through two extra yarn overs. That's the whole trick.
For more complicated mistakes I always recommend tinking (knitting backwards) - especially if you missed an increase or decrease. These stitches either create more or less yarn in your fabric and you cannot simply add it back without controlled unraveling to that spot.

Thanks Norman! I finished my brioche cardigan months ago and WISHED I had a video as good as this when I made mistakes! Not gonna lie I had several times where my heart was racing after I undid the stitches and didn't know if I was gonna be able to put it back together. 😅

Great timing. Just trying to make my first two color brioche hat and have ripped it back already so many times because of mistakes. And all mistakes seem kind off fatal. One of my goals now is to learn how to reverse decreases and increases so I can track back instead off ripping it. And picking up the stitches after ripping back a section, and, and, and……….

This video was so clear. I love the yarn you use for your demos, however I must add, make sure you don’t twist the stitch you pick up which the crochet hook. I saw you did this two or three times.

actually, I am NOT twisting it ;-) (yes it looks that way but if you don't do this kinda pivot twist, you WILL end up with twisted stitches. Try it out on stockinette stitch. you'll have to twist around as well)
