Why are we so conditioned to not talk about price of things? You shouldn’t be that uncomfortable saying it’s insured for 150k. I’m about to buy a VX 300 Cruiser for 120k, yeah it’s expensive and yeah it’s also got the brand name tax so you pay more but I’m in a position where I can pay for it. Why are we so uncomfortable talking about our annual wage or cost of things

Have you tried AMV Automotive in kewdale? Not 100 % sure if he does 2.8L, he did my 200 and i was very impressed....he is also all about reliability as he tunes his own cars for long trips....he actually talked me out of going for more hp and nm. Worth a phone call

100%, couldn't agree more! When we tow the 16ft hybrid with our 3L Prado it gets the job done however it does seem like im loading up the engine! Normally get 17L/100km with no wind what so ever and 19-20L with a headwind. Having 33's, Lift, roof rack, steel bar, scrubs, Side steps and heavy drawer system in the rear, then throwing 2.5T behind it defiently inhibits heavily on the fuel economy and overall strain on the Prado. Maybe without the mods it might perform a lot better... still probably pushing it. Luckily the 16ft Urban Armorlite hybrid we tow is the lightest In its class with a full rig welded Ali frame. if it wasn't for that we would be in real trouble! Personally I think your car harry would tow the hybrid a lot better than the older 3L. Few more killer wasps
@firetofork2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree guys, I know my car could definitely tow your van, but as the 10 year tourer, I’m definitely going to recommend the average person grabs something like a Y62 or a 200. But, as always, get the way you drive it and take care of it is far more important than the number of cylinders

Glad to finally see an honest of review of the Maxxis RAZR. Every influencer and their dog are plugging them no doubt due to Maxxis' marketing budget. The chipping on your rear tires would have me heading straight to the nearest shop. Maybe consider Toyo R/T? Their M/T are amongst the strongest in the business and the R/T shares the same sidewall construction. Cooper and BFG seem to have a poor reputation in recent history for hard use environments like WA. Mickey Thompson also have some question marks however their ATZ P3 seems to have good reviews for dry outback touring.

Mate (and with all due respect) stop saying "I'm very lucky"... We can all see you've put blood sweat and tears into Fire to Fork to get it to where it is today and the car is mearly a "Tool of Trade" of which you deserve every ounce of. Much <3 from a Dometic 75dz and BFG KM3 owner ;)

Finally a influencer that tells the truth about 4 cyl and caravans . We loved our prado fantastic car . Perfect for a camper trailer but was a shocker towing our small hybrid caravan especially in the the Kimberley where we lived for many years. The car struggled with the heat towing and fuel economy was 18-24 lph with headwind effecting greatly. I would buy one again especially as a couple towing something small . Rumour is the next model will have a 6 cyl how good would that be best of both worlds. Waiting to see the ineos with the 6 cyl should be a game changer . Keep up the good work love the videos .

Not from Perth, but PDP seems to get a good wrap for tuning diesel 4x4’s. Ronny Dahl takes his vehicles there, there’s also Reaper Diesel performance, may be an option to give the trolly a bit more poke

Its a small engine with a high workload (approx 3t not to mention any add-ons and towing something heavy around the country). I'm no mechanical expert but choose to play it safe and do what I can to not summon the cracked piston deity, so no chips/tunes for my prado. Decent info here kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnW6ZYR9oLSXb9k .
