how are the badis so peaceful with each other in a small tank?
@nelsonfamily21932 ай бұрын
Hoping you still check this out. I love this plant and have three of them in a 40 gallon tank (I know they will outgrow it). Have had them for about 4 months and get new leaves every few days. Growing in RO water at a PH about 6 with CO2 on and 7 without it on. Everything is going great with these guys, as I said new leaves every few days, the problem I have though is that most of the leaves, when they open up, have a hole in them. Nothing dieing at all, almost like the hole is supposed to be there. I figure I have to be missing something. just updated the root tabs (I put them in when I put the plants in originally) and using an Oase aquasoil. Community tank with tetras, amano shrimp, otos and nerite snails. have a few spare ramshorns around also. Any thoughts as to what nutrients I am missing? Like I said, the plants look fabulous, just have the holes in the leaves, but no decay around the holes.

Love this video. I'm setting up my first 125g and I've been struggling with whether to use a white sand cap. But yours looks great, with a thin gravel layer. I love it.

Good luck!! Choose a color, shape, and buy all the sizes as you visit your lfs. You will need back stock. 💚

Most of the gravel/sand distribution is from the strong flow. I let the stream pump and different weights of sand/gravel figure things out. :-)

Do you inject oxygen through an air bubbler?
@maniniscapes19365 ай бұрын
Yup, just a regular air pump. I inject it into the stream pump to further diffuse atmosphere into the tank.

Interesting. What's your fertilization regime?
@maniniscapes19367 ай бұрын
This tank started off with planters/pots of ADA Amazonia ver 1, extremely rich at first. Over time as they depleted (nitrate drop) I would supplement with a lean amount of NPK, usually salts mixed with RO water. Leaning fast growers with bright lights (and co2) can cause extreme coloration!

greetings ! I love your work, what type of illustrations and substrate do you use?

Greetings! This tank utilized ADA Amazonia version 1 with light liquid fertilization. Of course bright lights and co2! Thanks for checking it out :-)

Cryptocoryne spiralis Tiger swaying in a mildly fast water current aside with Eleocharis and other plants surrounding those rounded pebbles really gets the job done. ❤

This tank has been challenging as hell! Ty for noticing the work involved - - still miles away however. <3
@bartosztomasz7 ай бұрын
Why challenging? River style tanks have low plant biomass, struggling with algae? :D@@maniniscapes1936

It's a crazy one, but so beautiful. All about Light intensity, Co2 & fertilizer manipulation.
@craigathonian8 ай бұрын
Love the layout composition, but you could have skipped the ADA soil for just this plant. It's a carnivore, so that means it comes from very low nutrient terrain. As a result It couldn't absorb all the fertilizers this substrate leaches out, hence the algae bloom. Great example of an elegant aquarium !

Hi! Which rotala gives the yellowish tone?
@maniniscapes19366 ай бұрын
Macrandra! But it really it comes down to light & co2 intensity - leaning ferts can allow color enhancement as well.
