As a beginner Karpov is my favourite player, and I don't wish to learn openings because my memory is poor and I prefer strategy, though I cannot yet do it. I like your style of play. I am currently bogged down learning about openings which is like a Hydra to me.

Like in Golf, many like to practice a lot in the driving range to hit that ball as hard as possible. However, counting the number of strokes, it is only about 20% of the game.

It always work, most Common is d4 Nf6 Nd2, but d4 d5 Nd2 is also possible. Leads to the same lines
