This song and his voice reminds me of Jon Foreman

I found this song first from The Midnight, but a few years later I discovered this was the original version by Tyler. It blew me away. Soon after, I found out that a few of The Midnight’s albums, like Heroes, contained verses and lines from Tyler’s album The Floating Years. I can never get over how cool this song is and how it evolved from this into its synthwave counterpart. I love both versions equally, each having their own unique genre. It’s really cool seeing some of Tyler’s other songs being integrated into The Midnight’s albums. While Tyler pursues his career in The Midnight, I hope he can some time on the side to make more music like this.

I want you to know I've been listening to The Midnight obsessively the past couple of years and the first time I heard your voice I said to someone "He has such an incredible voice I would love to hear it over something acoustic like indie-folk." The other day I was looking for an acoustic The Midnight set and I came across your personal videos. Welp, now I feel like an ape. XD

Time to pick up my jaw off the floor. Tyler's vocals and songwriting are excellent. He really shines through on acoustic tracks like this and The Midnight's three orchestral tracks

I love that the the lines "one beating heart" and "sunset, no regrets" are also found in The Midnight's music!

I love this song! It kind of reminds me of Simon & Garfunkel, who apparently served as Tyler's inspiration for America 2, so I like to think I'm on to something there 😆

I was busy trying not to die 7 years ago when this song came out. Got better. I'm so insanely late to this party, but I'm glad I finally made it. Been half-asleep waiting for the wounds to heal is what brought me you. xo

_lyrics_ Some days I am Caesar Some days I am Christ Some days St. Theresa By golly, some days I play nice And some days I am a mother fucking werewolf I am a cannibal that eats himself alive So if you see me tonight on the floor or the ceiling It depends how I'm feeling, maybe you'll take me home and I'll climb your mountains and build a castle around it But bring your silver bullets just in case Some days I'm wide receiver Some days blow your mind Some days stoned at breakfast Some nights drunk on wine And some days I am a mother fucking werewolf I am a cannibal that eats himself alive So if you see me tonight on the floor or the ceiling It depends how I'm feeling, maybe you'll take me home and I'll climb your mountains and build a castle around it But bring your silver bullets just in case Some days you are Elvis Some days Joan of Arc Some nights Hallelujah and some just break your heart And some days you are a mother fucking werewolf You are medusa with napalm in your eyes/ you are a cannibal that eats himself alive And if I see you tonight on the floor or the ceiling It depends how you're feeling maybe I'll take you home Maybe we'll slow dance or build a fort on my big bed But I'm bringing my silver bullets just in case While I was casting demons out of you You were casting demons out of me Now I think it's best we let it be Because I am a werewolf and you are a werewolf too
