Very nice, I just clicked on to this searching classic's. I also have one of these with a similar purchasing story. This one was purchased by an OCD owner, both covers deluxe & standard. The deluxe cover is still in the original package as are all the spare rub trims he purchased. All documentation & more, original EZ Loader deluxe trailer. It was in storage for 15 years & properly winterized. It is perfect better than new showroom condition....not a imperfection of anything. When I started it the first time hour meter displayed "4.5" it now shows "6.5" I will watch the rest or your videos 🙂

Nice find.I have a 2001 seadoo xp. Do you know if they ever made a special cover for my year model? I've seen a red cover and a blue cover. But I can't find pictures of anything else.

The raider is a beast for sure but a boat compared, I love my raider but have a feeling the HX will be on another level of rider input... thanks for watching dude 💪✌

@classicjetskis a found that if you take the rotary cover intake off and change it out for a seadoo xp single carb set up with the fuel primer built into it and single carb intake box same power out put

Great video. I never saw one of these on any of the lakes I was on. Interesting unit.
@classicjetskisАй бұрын
The HX is for sure is a more acquired taste ski, even back in the day, so makes sense that you haven't seen one... As I said, since it was only around for a short time, not many realize how iconic this was. By all accounts, one of the best rider skis out there. Thanks for watching, dude 💪

Thanks, man! I have a load of VHS videos I converted to MP4. Back in the day, Seadoo would send out promo videos. Not much content around that said, but it’s a good way to get archived footage... so cool to see. Thanks for watching 💪✌

I remember when the HX was released. I remember Sea- Doo saying something about purposely designing it to look like a dolphin, which it really did from the side profile. I appreciated it, but wasn't for me.
@classicjetskisАй бұрын
For sure, the HX has a distinctive look, and I can kind of see how it could maybe share some design cues from a dolphin, Seadoo did really lean into this kind of theming back then... I can’t wait to ride mine... shame the HX didn’t hit the mark for you, dude. Most say it was incredible, but just hard to master. Thanks for watching 💪
@WildWoodOfficialАй бұрын
HX was a blaster killer. Still is the sport spec class requires the HX the remain stock while the blaster can be fully modified.
@classicjetskisАй бұрын
Interesting, man. From all the people I spoke to for sources on this video, including the guys racing these back in the day, this is what I heard also... that the HX was slightly more capable. That said, there are others that say the other way... always the way, right? Thanks for watching ✌

Thanks, man! I know, right? I want a B1 also. Love my B2, but the B1 is meant to be on a whole other level... can't wait. Thanks for watching dude 💪

You will kill me. I had to destroy that hx hull as they gave me a trailer with it on it. Had no engine just a pump.
@classicjetskisАй бұрын
Are you talking generally or about one of the actual HX hulls featured in the clips from the OG promo videos? Either way, it's a sad day when an HX goes to trash... Thanks for watching ✌
@batteryman16Ай бұрын
Another great video Joe! If you are doing more videos on the HX I would love to learn more on the changes for this model throughout its lifespan. Are the specs for weight on the HX and blaster filled with petrol, battery and the fire extinguisher? I have always heard the blaster was closer to 320 pounds.
@H20ONFIREАй бұрын
Hp #'s on the blaster are off. Early 61x motor was 60 something and last year dual carb 62t case was like 73hp.
@batteryman16Ай бұрын
I wish the 61x had that much power! No way with the bread box 😄
@peel_out_baw7 күн бұрын
The 61x gets near 110hp with dual sbn44’s and a factory pipe. I think now dual carb factory pipe blasters are so common today’s buyers probably think these mods came stock on the B1

Very therapeutic to watch mate. I know it sounds basic as hell, but a video on how you wash down your engine bay, and spray down with marine lubricant would be quite beneficial. Even though I've ski'd for years now, I've managed to bank a lot of small tips from your vids which is down to your meticulousness.
@TBird89Ай бұрын
Mate Led Zeppelin back ground music next time please 😂…… anyway I water rinse, then foam cannon, then micro fibre sponge the foam, then rinse, then Saltaway flush, then Lanox all parts that need protection, then vacuum any water out of the hull if I’ve sprayed the engine earlier seems anal and then I have a portable fan go for 4 plus hours running in the engine to dry everything out. Next day I give it a quick start to flush out any remaining water in the intercooler, then Bobs your uncle.
@classicjetskisАй бұрын
Thanks for watching legend ✌ I was tempted to go with the usual '80s vibes music', but I wanted the background noise to breathe in this. This footage is actually 3-4 years old... totally forgot about it on the hard drive...but Megs did a great job capturing it on the fly, I thought it would make intresting viewing to see an organic vid...That said since then, my cleaning routine has changed a bit. I now flush with Bluthru (be cautious with Salt-Away; when I used it I found it left a sticky residue, I’ve seen a lot of reviews mentioning it leaves a sticky residue also that salt/sand can bind to). Bluthru is great-I love the colour-changing tec! the only thing is its purely for flush only...If you want to see it in action, I made a cleaning video that's more representative of what I do now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5nTlauYgNOoiNU&ab_channel=ClassicJetskis I now use a snow cannon, but it's a bit of a catch-22 since I have to use snow foam that isn’t strictly marine-grade, like the 3M cleaner I used in the video. I'm thinking about trying out @saltcaptin or similar salt cleaners that supposedly break down salt deposits better than regular soap. I then use an airline to dry out the engine bay www.powertoolworld.co.uk/einhell-teac-18-75-li-ofsolo-18v-power-xchange-cordless-air-compressor-body-only?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA88a5BhDPARIsAFj595hvg9E3sEp4AZT0uhfcuUPCCkPlP0rvnokcumUvOb6mdCt-LfAmwpEaAjmGEALw_wcB (if I’ve washed in there), then lube everything up. Like you, once I’m home, I leave the engine bay open, and the garage heater is on. I may make a more detailed cleaning video including the engine bay at somepoint...

Back in 1999 when this gsx ltd was new... the original oil from bombardier was the Formula XPS Full Syntetic 2 stroke marine oil. Well it coast 80 dollars a liter o a cuartz bottle. I allways want to know why is so expensive.... and the answer is! Its a biodegradable oil! Its not harmfull for the envoirment!

@SnojetSteveАй бұрын
It's a very closely related hull to the 96' GTX that I love so much. Our family got away from Sea-doo in 1998 because of the 947 motor. We expected a triple roughly based on the Skidoo Mach Z but instead they built a gigantic twin. The first and 2nd year, they had all kinds of problems.
@nimasideАй бұрын
Cool video, although It would be nice to be able to hear more of the ski's especially the 2 stroke. The music is nice, but a bit much. Unless you're promoting the music. Man that Spark got out of the hole way quicker than the GSX.
