Great video. Your videos make stuff look so easy on these cars and if they went that easy for me I'd be working on my car nearly every day but they are very helpful and well put together. I've had my LS1 Z28 for 20 years now and I'd like to keep it forever but it's becoming harder and harder to find mechanics who I can trust to work on it. Every time I take it somewhere if it doesn't take 2 or 3 visits to get it right they screw something else up which is almost just a given. Can't even get them to jack it up at the right spot even after I specifically tell them where to jack it. Thanks and subscribed.

Can you use an adhesive to help hold the gasket in place on the pan to reinstall as well?

How does it make it slip if the oil is dark , I never replaced it on my 06 Silverado 5.3 it has 185k miles

Because the grit(friction material from the clutches) in the fluid helps it catch...and if it becomes thin and clean it loses that friction material and it may begin to slip..so to counter that they do make this lucas stop slip where it can help in older worn out transmission..so u add that before installing pan since its thick and wont pour in so easily

Took mine out and gave it gas it revved up to 6-7k rpms but didn’t shift so I let off and some smoke appeared inside for a couple seconds, started doing that on the way home it would shift into 1st easy then rev up going into 2nd but it would shift into it occasionally, would this be something to check out?

But replace both a and b then you have two more solenoids in the front of the pan torque solenoids two as well

You could start there then try that if not try the Lucas transmission slip im literally going threw that now cause my fluid was dark but no metal in the pan at all
