He had zero friends. Those who served with him didn't remember him. He had no personality apparently. I read his story years ago - via a book on all the executions in England and Wales. It, his whole pathetic story, encouraged me to write a book. ( In the executions in England...book ) it described how he was arrested on a hot summer morning. The dust from the dirt track clogged-up the air. The bedsit he lived in was run-down; seedy, too. Once his chapter is read the dire need for a shower feels necessary. Forget the fingerprints. What got him hanged was his footprints; heel prints, really. He claimed he was drunk. He couldn't have been that drunk for, before entering through an open window, he took his socks and slippers off. It's a pity they could only hang him the once.

Only just seen this video. My uncle is buried in this cemetery. He had a marked grave and my mum maintained it, visiting every birthday and christmas. She has recently passed and I want to visit again as well as learn more.

Wow such a great video, very well researched and presented. Had no knowledge of the tale even though it's just a few streets away from my home.

It was a 15 minute walk from the street where I was born just 3 years later. I don’t remember being told the story.. maybe I forgot. Poor girls.
@thaiexpat8358Ай бұрын
Why wear a mask when presenting? It makes you come across as a total wally and not worth listening to. The street you pointing to was Market Street. I lived on horseshoe corner and it was generally accepted that the shoe was that of Dick Turpin's horse.

My father was an American GI at BAD2 at that time. I have visited Freckleton in 2007. I met Ruby and the son of theGI that pulled her from the flaming school. An Inspiration visit. My father was a carpenter and he and others mad wooden toys for survivors and other children.

My name's not Sue, it's Mark. That said: People like you, Daft Monkey & Martin Zero keep our history alive. You show how much "legal" vandalism is done, not just to consecrated places but to buildings etc which should be preserved. You all, and others, also inform us of stuff we should know about or stuff that's been allowed to be forgotten. To you and all the others - keep up the brilliant work you do.

Brilliant. Well done. I am Freckleton born & bred and i live 50 yards from where the school was and i genuinely think about this disaster every day. I walk my dog past Trinity Close and read the plaque every day and also the plaque in the park that was given to the village by the Americans. The teacher Jennie Hall was my Grandmas’s Aunt. Thank you for doing this 🥰

Ellis was a Libra... In astrology its the scales for justice ...He found out that Justice isn't always served ..not by man nor woman only God.... I was looking into Ellis when researching Crippen , then I came upon Edith Jesse Thompson and her demise ..truly tragic As a point of interest the attack on Ediths husband by her lover was the 4th of October same date as Elliss birthday ..which is a karmic connection , Yes that taping that recording of supposed Elliss voice , no it is not accurate as I come from that area , the dialect isn't correct I will follow up though on the links Thank you😊❤

Brilliant truthful video, lived on Brockhall for 20 years and I was friends with Gerald, Harry and Linda, but as most successful people do get some stick but he used to have concerts in his grounds and opened his gardens to the public , all the money was given to charity ..Restbite was passionate charity for him, Brockhall has a lot of History and the Hitman family didn’t want people to forget it, it’s now a Fabulous to live ..

Absolutely horrific! How anyone could commit mutilations like that on anyone, let alone a person he was supposed to love and another he knew well, I cannot imagine! I don't care if his wife was unfaithful or not, nobody deserves that and there can be no justification for it. A very good looking, intelligent man who killed 2 women and destroyed his own life in the process. What a fool and how very evil!

Not Barrow in Furness as you say ,but Barrow which is just 1 mile outside of Whalley going towards Clitheroe. You can find where the station and railway line was by going further up Mitton Rd, to just opposite the cemetery is and on the left is a path that goes down to where the line was .
